But that is when they sold tickets and had a count of tickets sold.

Today, estimating crowds is not an exact science, and tallies can be inconsistent.
Reagan???? You gotta go back to 1980 to try and justify the fact that Trump can't draw a crowd to his inauguration after bragging that the crowds would be tremendous and lying that you couldn't buy a ballgown in D.C.?

I cannot wait. It's going to be so satisfying to watch all those who voted against their interest feasting on crow.

rbohm - I have been on a centrist populist fools errand for the last 50 years. Why should I stop now?

I completely agree with Trump's "economic nationalism". We have been strongly supporting international investment by our moneyed classes by attempting to be "Free Traders" in a heavily mercantile world. We allowed untaxed imports while the countries manufacturing those goods in American owned factory had protective tariffs. Even today with it's massively unbalanced trade with us, China has a 20% tariff on American made products. That is profitable for China and the American owned companies but really damaging to American workers and citizens. President Trump is making some noise about eliminating this unfair trade. I suggest he use the government to make it more profitable for American and foreign investors to put their money in this country instead of their own. That would lead to real prosperity.

I also hope President Trump (I am practicing writing that so I stop twitching) recognized the absurdity of our dealings in the Middle East. So what if some insane Zionists want to move the capital of Israel to Jerusalem? That war will be going on for at least another 5,000 years as it already has. I hope he stops trying to prevent the Russians from building a oil/gas pipeline from Iran through eastern Syria to sell the stuff to eastern Europe despite the howls of protest from the Saudis and the Arab Emirate thieves. It is past time we stopped letting the Saudi's set our Mideast policy. I think we should just get out of the entire area. The oil will be safe underground no matter how self destructive the fools on the surface.

Thanks for your consideration.

All we got was a rehashed stump speech, with over the top statements, like violence in inner cities stopping today. Really?

All we got was a dissing of EVERY former President on the podium, whether Republican or Democrat, plus congress.

All we got was bull baiting the rest of the world that they don't matter any more.

Trump will have a lot to learn. Let's hope his actions don't harm America, and that Congress constrains him. There are good people on both sides of the aisle that DO understand what it means to govern for all Americans.

Trump has given no indication he does.
Agreed.

That stuff has been debated on here for hundreds of pages. I'm just amused that after all that bragging about how great his inauguration was gonna be, the crowds were sparse.
