AUSTIN – Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has threatened to cut millions to Travis County over the local sheriff's pledge that it will no longer fully cooperate with federal immigration officials.
Sheriff Sally Hernandez, a Democrat elected in November, said Friday her department would stop honoring all federal requests to detain suspects who might be in the United States illegally, the Austin-American Statesman first reported.
Only those who commit a crime like capital murder, aggravated sexual assault or people smuggling will be turned over to U.S. Customs and Immigration Officials, Hernandez said, setting off a tweet storm from Abbott, who pledged to cut off funding to the county.

I wonder how long it will take before they start to crack?

Hopefully, with the new President "(mixed opinion) and Jeff Sessions (fantastic man), more and more states start decreasing funding to sanctuary cities.

Its sad that Travis County can't follow the law and the state of Texas has to enact legislation to ensure that Travis County complies with federal and state laws.

Glad that the governor of Texas is doing what he can to contain this extremely liberal, un-american agenda of Travis County.

These cities are doing nothing but aiding and abetting in crime. The police chiefs and mayors of sanctuary cities are aiding and abetting in crime and should have charges filed against them just like ordinary citizens.

Because of illegal immigrants the country has the largest drug epidemic in the history of the country and also then taxes are through the roof into socialist levels in parts of the country due to the massive social and educational needs of illegal aliens that are breaking the law by being the country.

Austin is a dump, like most liberal cities. There are drugged out hobos on every intersection and they have even rediscovered the old squeegee man scam. Fortunately, they can't be too aggressive or they'll be shot. Also, because its run by hippies, they purposely didn't build the road system to accommodate growth. Austin has the worst traffic in the state, by a long shot, as far as I am concerned.

I have to go to Austin for business all the time and I hate it. Awful place. Wheels should build a wall around it so its residents can't visit the rest of the state.
