I'm sure his statement will be disappointing to some who expected him to be all fire and brimstone against all illegal/legal immigrants.

Yet, it shows that inside, Trump isn't the unfeeling and bigoted demon some portray him to be.

On immigrant Dreamers, Trump tells top senator: 'We don't want to hurt those kids' - LA Times
Quote:
Sen. Richard J. Durbin of Illinois, the No. 2 Democrat, met Trump for the first time at Friday's inaugural luncheon in the Capitol and used the opportunity to bring up the so-called Dreamers.

"We don't want to hurt those kids," Trump said, according to Durbin's recounting of the lunch conversation.

He's wrong-his supporters do want to hurt those kids.

Most of us agree with President Trump tho, we don"t want to hurt them. On the contrary we want to help them.

Who is "we"? Trump is going to get crosswise with his base in a hurry if he goes soft on them.

Yet Trump's hardcore supporters think that Trump will kick out those kids, as well as their parents. They didn't make this idea up themselves, Trump deliberately gave them this impression and courted their votes on this basis.

So which is it? Is Trump a liar? Or is he a guy who intends to follow through?

I'm not worried about people in this country already living a decent life. I just want to stop people from continually being able to come into this country. And it's not just people from central America. Need to have borders both North & south moving into the age of terrorism.

well, hate to do this to you, but many of us Trump supporters always knew this.

He said, "will work something out." (regarding these kids) This is what we wanted in the first place.

I get the impression that the average Trump supporter is not as hardline as the frothing neo-Nazis the media held their cameras rock-steady on.

You should help them by letting them live in your town. Which is, improbably, only 4% hispanic. Or do you help them by paying their mothers peanuts to come clean your house?
