The Trump Train keeps on making deliveries...

2 Promises down, many more to go.

Ending TPP was a GOD send!

TPP was ended quite some time ago. The house and senate killed it.

I was not a fan, so I'm with you on it being dead being a good thing, and its one of the things I was unhappy with Obama about.

Except, at some point you are going to argue that the U.S. isnt dictating trade and economic development in the Pacific and South East Asia, and you are going to blame the Democrat that is in office at the time instead of The anti free traders.

OR

Trump could be everything he claims to be and somehow create fair trade with those nations individually.

Obama was being his usual pragmatic self...

Quote:
We have to make sure America writes the rules of the global economy. And we should do it today, while our economy is in the position of global strength. Because if we don’t write the rules for trade around the world -- guess what -- China will. And they’ll write those rules in a way that gives Chinese workers and Chinese businesses the upper hand, and locks American-made goods out.”

I understand the skepticism people have about trade agreements, particularly in communities where the effects of automation and globalization have hit workers and families the hardest. But building walls to isolate ourselves from the global economy would only isolate us from the incredible opportunities it provides. Instead, America should write the rules. America should call the shots. Other countries should play by the rules that America and our partners set, and not the other way around.

And I think we will miss his pragmatism when the lunacy of the current administration continues to resurface day after day.
