I didn't support him, and was opposed to both he and Hillary, but I do want him to be a successful POTUS. With that said, if he does pass Obama in his approval rating, he is going to be insufferable telling us how he is the most highly approved POTUS in recent history, nobody had a higher approval rating than Trump, the people LOVE Trump.

If it is 59%, then he is already ahead of Obama.

That's a big IF.

RCP average has Trump at 42% favorable, 49.6% unfavorable. Only the Rasmussen and the Reuter's/Ipsos poll show him with a rating that's not unfavorable.

I get why the Trumpettes need the President to have yuge favorability ratings...he has no real allies in Washington, DC, and he needs to wield a big stick of public opinion in order to have influence over Congress. Problem is, his big stick is really only a small branch.

Yet Trump has beaten every single politician who has gone up against him including Hillary Clinton. This speaks for itself.

Trumpettes? How old are you?

Oh, yes, Trump threaded the needle. He won the Republican nomination for President by winning over a large field of candidates, almost always winning by a plurality of the vote. Trump won the Presidency by about 80K of votes in three states - in other words he won a squeaker of an election, helped by a severely flawed Democratic candidate, by a constant drip-drip of one-sided email leaks, and by an unprecedented action by the director of the FBI. IMO, Trump is more lucky than capable.

Old enough.

Trumpettes seems an apt moniker, given the other descriptors being bandied about.
