Martial Law might be going a bit far but the shootings need to stop.
It is odd how Obama never did much for his hometown in trying to stop the carnage but the excuse for inactivity was often tied to racial profiling and the evil overlord racist cops coming down on the poor black kids.
Stop and Frisk works and Sorry all you PC Social Justice Warriors but if the black teens are shooting the black teens in black neighborhoods then guess what it is not racial profiling but it is Police going to the source of the trouble and doing their jobs.
Obama released hundreds of felons from prison right before he left office and many of those were in for drug and firearm offenses. Why?

President Trump is a softy compared to me. I would instate Martial Law in areas of Chicago with no hesitation.

There's a federal department involved in public health stuff like zika and there have been people who say the murder plague in Chicago should be treated like a public health crisis. The feds have used slimmer threads to grab things with.
Atlanta, Philadelphia, D.C., Baltimore, Memphis, Miami, and several others have issues worse than Chicago. Even Houston has a higher violent crime rate I believe, but that's in the crazed alt-right Holy Land of Texas, so it gets a pass. Chicago is home to over 2.7 million people - something that gets lost on people because the raw numbers are so shocking. I don't even think Chicago is in the top twenty for violent crime. Regardless, the shootings need to be addressed, but how is the big question. These people don't have educations, don't have stable family lives, and don't have any employment prospects. It's not something you can fix overnight by putting the military on the streets. The second they're gone, the killings will start up again.
Houston is Democratic, and no, the violent crime rate is lower than Chicago's. We're gun toting liberals, and I know because I live here Houston's large cities are Democrat, and the overall more populated rural areas are Republican, which is why it is a red state.
