The 20% tariff on imports from Mexico means the US consumer will pay for the wall. It's like a hidden tax. 88 64.71%

The 20% tariff on imports from Mexico will hurt both nations equally because they will retaliate with a tariff on US exports to Mexico. 18 13.24%

Does putting a 20% tariff on Mexican imports really force Mexico to pay for the wall?
One way or the other Mexico will pay and guess their products will come close to the cost of products in America!

We in Fact May enter Negociations with China for a Free Trade Deal.

If USA is withdrawing from competence we may join the once wanting to compete.

China will suck up your factories and put your people out of business.

You'll regret free trade with China.

You left out the only real option.

The American taxpayer will pay for the wall twice.
Once when congress funds the 20 billion dollars of taxpayer's money to fund the cost of the build and once again when Trump put's a 20% tariff on all Mexican imports.

This is Trump dealing at it's finest. Just like his Casinos. Uses other people's money to buy them. Siphons all the cash from them. Goes bankrupt and leaves the investors holding the debt and he gets the 887 billion tax write off.

The US people are investing in his wall with the promise of a payback. Only problem is the payback comes out of the people's pockets in higher prices paid for goods and services.

If the tariff is imposed their product will go up in cost but the highlight of it all is the American consumer will buy a cheaper product from other countries if they don't absorb the cost and stay competitive in the marketplace.

How much food comes from Mexico?

Mexico won't find a better trading partner, they will pay for the wall.

Outcomes:
1. American consumers will pay more for Mexican-made goods, meaning Americans are paying for the wall, not Mexicans.
2. Price increases may cause consumers to choose goods not made in Mexico, which means money for the wall decreases as demand for Mexican imports drops.

Trump really went to Wharton?

Or option 3, Mexico understands that it can't afford to have the massive jobs losses that a 20% tariff would cause, and they pay for the wall.

Now imagine how much pressure that will be put on the Mexican government by the Americans corporations that operate there, to just shut up, and pay for the damn wall.

Deep. Have you considered how easy it is to break a lot of eggs and end up with no omelette at all?

Very clever.

President Trump is going to make Mexico pay for the wall one way or another.
