Back to the OP: stuff happens and; better be safe than sorry when dealing with lawbreakers. This ain't Mexico where a bunch of kids may've been shot up in that pre school.
When you go on vacation are you a "legal alien"? There are tourists, refugees, visiting workers, permanent residents and a host of other statuses. The article referred to a daycare used by immigrants, and half the replies were about deporting them.

The reason for that, is because the term "immigrant" has been used, incorrectly, to describe illegal aliens. This was done in an attempt to lessen the impact of the understood meaning that they are illegally in the country. What it actually did was taint the term "immigrant" itself, to include criminal activity into its definition.

Yes. The reason some of the replies to the term "immigrant" were as if they were replies to the term "illegal alien" is because the term immigrant has been polluted by incorrect usage.
This incorrect usage was perpetrated by those with a desire to lessen the amount of understood criminality of the commonly used and correct term, "illegal alien".

Yes.

Cause IF I was in Canada; I'd def be a legal alien since otherwise I'd be there illegally OR I'd be a Canadian citizen. Period.

Why were all these legal immigrants scrambling to hide and lock their doors?
