If California left the union don't expect another Democrat in the White House for a long time.

California has frequently tried to seced over the years but they might just get enough votes to do it now using Trump to fuel the cause.

"Supporters of a plan for California to secede from the union took their first formal step Monday morning, submitting a proposed ballot measure to the state attorney general’s office in the hopes of a statewide vote as soon as 2018."

They say Californians are culturally different from the rest of the country, and that national media and organizations routinely criticize Californians for being out of step with the rest of the U.S.

^I knew they'd try this again after Trump won. They are always trying to leave.
They are not alone.

Counties in California can be changed by the state legislature.
There has never been a successful secession of a State but new States have been split off from existing ones multiple times. It is far more plausible for a part of CA to break off into a new State than it is for CA to secede.

Right but once again, that's by a constitutional amendment.

Please try.

Please try what? Help CA secede? As much as I would love being done with their Mexification of America, I am not eager for the country to split apart. California's ports and its agricultural capabilities are a plus for the country that are worth holding onto.

The country survived the Civil War,. We can survive the current socialist insurrection too.

Wrong. The country will not survive the fascist regime that is undermining our values and pushes a racist, xenophobic, hateful agenda.

Keep pushing us and see what happens.

It seems only your side is ambushing police, rioting, calling for the death of the President, the burning down of the White House, and general violence against anybody that dares to think differently than they do. We're already seeing what happens when you aren't allowed to suppress free speech and waive any law you disagree with.

The rest of the country is wondering, WWJD. J in this case is Joe, not Jesus. The pendulum has swung so far from what was going on in the 50s when people in Hollywood lost their jobs for merely having joined the communist party. Now the rest of the country is wondering how the Hollywood people can actually be moving the whole state toward adopting communist policies without anyone protesting against it. When will we start seeing protesters carrying signs stating, "Bring Back HUAC!"?

I just watched Trumbo for the first time, and I really felt that the anti communist politicians went overboard. But the movie didn't delve into actions that anyone in Hollywood was proposing at the time. All they concerned themselves with was the membership in the party.

All I am trying to say is, please be careful out there in La La Land. The pendulum tends to swing in both directions over time. None of us want to see it swing back to the the McCarthy period. Can it go any further to the left, before it starts swinging back?
