For a little insight into the legalities, I recommend googling "8 USC 1182" When you find it, scroll down to (f) and read THE LAW!
Better yet, just read the entire Code. I have. It is long, but quite enlightening!
It seems that trump did what THE LAW requires him to do.
He is also not the first President to do it!

However, a green card is a lawful resident status, which gives the holder the permit to enter the US and reside in US. This is why Trump flip-flopped on them.

Mike Pence said a Muslim ban would be unconstitutional. Why do you think he said it?

That's immoral.
We have done a lousy job here. Tamerlan Tsarnaev was traveling back and forth between the US and known areas of anti American activities. Now of course my bigger picture argument was us making them anti American to start with but all the same, should we not be monitoring this a bit better?

No, it does not give the Green Card holder guaranteed permission to re-enter the US. Not even US citizens with US passports have that. All must pass through Immigration upon entry/re-entry.

Have you never traveled abroad? I'm shocked by the sheer level of ignorance in this thread.

U.S. Citizens can not be turned away. They can be arrested when returning though. It's Constitutionally illegal to "deport" a U.S. citizen. If one is suspected of a crime they will be arrested.

No one claimed otherwise. Of course they will want to know your status, be it Citizen, permanent resident, tourist etc. No more straw man arguments please.

No one is arguing that you don't have to pass through immigration. No one.

Stop snipping my posts. It's against the TOS. Quit it.

If you can't argue my whole point then don't bother.
