They just showed on local tv a man being re-united with his wife and kids. At first he had been banned from coming back. He is from Iran and had gone back to visit his father who was very sick. He is living here legally, having gone through all the paperwork and background checks but they tried to keep him out.
So there is one individual who did get back in and is back here with his family. My own doctor is from Iran, a nice older man. So I guess he probably doesn't dare go back for a visit either?
This is so wrong. If Trump wants to go after ILLEGALS, ok. But don't go after the people who obeyed the laws and came here rightfully. I think Trump doesn't have much of a clue as to what he's doing.
I can see a go slow on the refugees although the state department and FBI say they already do "extreme vetting" that take nearly two years. But this going after legally admitted persons, people who have jobs, cars, homes, families in the US is intolerable.
I don't recall anything like this being done before, maybe you have an example of a world wide hold on people entering the US on Visas other than Iran back in the 70's when they took over our embassy. This happened within hours of his signature and why exactly was this necessary immediately. This isn't just the US, these people are being prevented from boarding US flights world wide.
This isn't just a few people, it is happening at every airport with the US as a destination. Now who do you suppose should be in charge of making sure the policy of an executive order signed by the president is interpreted correctly.
Please stop minimalizing with "no one made an issue until now", that is complete nonsense.
They put an Iranian National in handcuffs for 17 hours then released him, this will make a great add for the Ayatollah.
Some of these people would have spent years being vetted and going through an arduous process, just to be cleared, make their arrangements and get to the airport finally. Then this crap. It's heartbreaking.
In the past 40 years, there has been not a single fatal terrorist attack in America carried out by anyone belonging to the seven nationalities targeted by the order.
More reason for Trump to make his Supreme Court pick ASAP in case these challenges float upward.
