I am worried for family members and all Americans today. If we had home-grown zealots on the edge just looking for a impetus to go killing Americans, Trump just provided it. It would be wise to avoid malls, clubs, or outdoor crowds until the dust settles on this action.
Judge Donnelly announced during an emergency hearing Saturday night that she was granting a stay that would prevent the government from deporting immigrants currently detained in airports around the country.
The stay does not strike down the full executive order. It does not allow people to come to the US who are currently abroad.
More reason for Trump to make his Supreme Court pick ASAP in case these challenges float upward.
Yep. And if it comes down to it and Democrats are going to fight as hard as I think they will, McConnell needs to take the Senate into an official recess so that Trump can make a recess appointment, at which point the Senate can work to permanently appoint the recess fill.
