Why are you blaming Democrats for this? I'm a liberal (mostly) and I think they should take their share. What you should be asking yourself is why the Donald didn't make this a campaign issue. If we're going to tax Mexico for the wall, why wouldn't we up the tax on our exports to these insanely wealthy states for reimbursement for the funds we spend on refugee programs?

FWIW, Iran also does not speak the same language as Syrians and there is not a big Arab-speaking expat group there like in Europe.
What border does Syria share with the USA? Obama had a plane and a phone.

Well, by that logic, we should completely suspend the refugee program and let people come here on their own dime.

Those countries know many of the refugees are radical Islamic terrorists.

They are smart enough not to let them come in and destroy their countries.

These countries are much smarter than our liberals are.

Please explain THAT, oh wise one. I am waiting.
Read up on Sunni-Shia relations. They hate and kill each other.

Its pretty simple. Immigrate, and Reproduce on a large scale. You win a war without even firing a shot. It is a very smart approach to defeating the west. It is working wonders in Europe right now.
How is what working? 6% of the European population is Muslim from various ethnicities. Most hard-working law-abiding citizens.

42% of the refugees coming to Europe in 2015 were women and children. Those are terrorists too?

The stupidity of Americans on this issue is beyond all belief. You really think Europe is invaded by hordes of evil raping murdering monsters who breed like rabbits and it will be the end of Western civilisation? If you do, you are idiots.

Syrian Refugees: Here's How the Screening Process Works | Time.com
Yeah, looks good on paper. You do know that Obama had reduced the vetting process down from 18-24 months to just 3 months so that he could shove as many refugees through as he could before he would be out of office.

Even at the 18-24 month vetting period it is difficult to vet people when there is little to no paper trail on a person, or, what paper trail there is. it's muddled. Add to that the DHS is lax about digging deep to make sure things are as they seem. Take that female California shooter for example. DHS vetted her in that 18-24 month period and claimed everything about her was fine and dandy. She was supposed to have that in-person interview with DHS but she refused to go, DHS didn't seem to care since they never bothered to follow up and make her go to the interview. Then she and her hubby went on that murderous shooting spree. After that the FBI began their investigation on her and in about a week and a half they discovered that everything she'd put on her application to the DHS was false, and, all of the supporting paperwork that she'd filed with DHS was forged. Hmm, DHS investigated her for almost 2 years and apparently never found a problem, yet the FBI investigated her for a week and a half and discovered that everything about her was a lie. Seems like DHS might just be going through the motions and rubber stamping people through instead of truly investigating like they are supposed to be doing.

ISIS already carried out an attack on Medina, the second holiest city in Islam...their brutality knows no limits.
With all due respect, you are simply being an apologist on their behalf and not holding them accountable.

American values are somehow not fundamentally juxtaposed to their Shi'a ideology? That didn't stop us from accepting them so why should it stop them. It shouldn't. They can make exception but they are choosing not to. That's just a weak excuse.

The ISIS reason is an excuse. Wealthy countries like the UAE and Saudia Arabia do not want to feed, clothe and shelter their fellow Islamic residents. They are just being elitist and want the United States do that for them. It is just unfortunate that you and other Americans are too timid to hold them accountable to do their part in this ordeal.

It goes beyond that. They are just being flat out selfish. They don't want to put up the resources to support them. It's just greed. When they know the U.S. will do that for them, they can just be quiet and doing nothing. They also know there are enough naive Americans that will criticize the U.S. for failing to take in more refugees. You can't ask for a better deal than that. And we have too many stupid people in this country who fail to recognize that. Yeah, let's not hold them accountable, lets just demonize our country.

It amazes me how Democrats and liberals in this country do not hold those countries accountable and only seek to demonize our country. Wake up Democrats. This is why you lost the election. Come back to reality.

Would make more sense . They share the same language and culture etc

We are under no obligation to take in refugees from countries where they are brainwashed to hate the west and Christianity from birth .
