I think people would get sick of showing proof every time they purchase something. Think about having to go into the store at the gas pumps.

No new taxes...make foreigners pay for it. Raise visa fees for students and workers 1000%, they will still come

Then you need to pay maintenance.

A wall only slows intruders down, it doesn't stop them.

Wall has to be monitored.

Personnel have to be able to respond to very remote locations within minutes.

Personnel have to be clothed, equipped, fed, and response vehicles provided.

All of this has to be managed and maintained.

All of this increases the cost of the wall significantly and the cost is on going ..... forever.

All bills spend money. This bill would impose taxes and would require 60% under senate rules. Not that you are going to get 30% of Republicans to vote for a tax increase. Better figure out how to make Mexico pay without some smoke and mirrors plan - like Trump said he would.

Jeeze, don't give them ideas. A national sales tax? It would increase to 25% in a week. And of course Congress would be exempt.
" It would increase to 25% in a week."

NOT if you put into the law that any increase has to have a say, 61% majority vote to increase it.

I wouldn't bet on it if I were you.

There are too many dems up for re-election in states that Trump took.

If you try to discourage illegal immigration by making legal immigration more difficult, you just might be a Trump Voter.

So Republicans, those champions of low taxes , will impose a tax on all Americans to pay for Trump's folly? Yeah, that's going to go over real well with their fans.

Perhaps we should all have little patches sewn onto our clothes to identify us. That seemed to work well when it was used by past fascist regimes.
