I think Cincinnati wants to appear immigrant friendly to gain more immigrants. It's surprising how few are there given the greater Cin / Day metro has over 3 million people. Louisville has used the refugee program to gain 10s of thousands of extra population. Almost everywhere I've worked here at had least a couple refugee workers from Cuba, Congo, or Iraq. Quite frankly many warehouses couldn't operate here without immigrants because many Americans can't pass a drug test.

Pittsburgh's city council is considering becoming a sanctuary city.

It's insanity.

If the trend continues, it is going to save the taxpayers a lot of money.

His name is Jeff Sessions. Once in, he will sue every single one of these cities. They will cave because the feds have more legal money in court .

The libs moan about white flight. This sanctuary nonsense is going to give it a shot in the arm of adrenaline and steroids. Whites will flee these cities at prodigious rates and what will mostly remain will be illegals and the people too poor to move.

Didn't California threaten not to pay federal tax if fed cuts state funding for being sanctuary city. It will go both way

I don't like the idea of a "sanctuary city" but as someone who lives in a Rust Belt city in Ohio, I know that the state and many of the cities here that have been losing population like to accept refugees and we have a long history of doing so. Refugees add positive gains to the economy by way of business creation and entrance into professional careers.

Due to this, I can understand Cincy deciding to follow suit. I think a lot of Rust Belt cities will consider it.

I'll also note that a majority of large urban metro areas have Democratic mayors (70% of the top 50 cities in the country). Urban areas are just more liberal by nature. Not sure why conservatives don't seem to understand this.
