If you look at the number of posts on this forum, politics dominates. There are 191K posts.

What's the point?

You will never get the other side to admit that they are wrong.

For your side, you are just preaching to the choir.

When the rare intelligent poster comes here, its refreshing to read insight and ideas.

Otherwise, its a good place to chat about stuff I can't IRL lest I upset the conservative softies.

This forum is a virtual looney bin.
All the crazies and kooks come here.
And there sure are a lot of them.
Hell, I'm one of them. But don't tell me that.

Venting

and I love to see how or why people think stuff. Sometimes it reinforces to me how naive people are and how much the bubble syndrome exists. Sometimes it shows me that there is a different angle to something

Eh a way to start the day. I just ignore the repetition of certain types of people.

Some political discussions are productive. Personally, I come here to challenge my beliefs. I've been involved in political forum discussions since the late 1990s. Discussions with both those that agree and disagree with me have helped shape and evolve my political beliefs. Iron sharpens iron.

I agree. I like to hear how others think about the hot topic of politics. Everyone has an opinion about it and most of the time we can have a chat about it here without being shouted down or shamed for our thoughts.
I know I can't say anything on facebook to many of my friends though they feel that they can dump on Trump to no end but here on CD we can have a healthy debate.

For me I check CD in this order Politics, Great Debates, Current Events, Automotive, Entertainment, my state, and a few others but Politics gets my main attention.

What is interesting is how Politics flipped with the election.

The things Conservatives complained about Obama is basically what Liberals now complain about Trump. One party defends or complains about actions that was done by the other party and vice versa.. They just put a twist on it to fit their views or party.

It's a topsy turvy world.

Because it is pure entertainment watching heads explode, by being just a tad provocative and naughty... It don't take much.

I found it funny. All the projections and predictions about Trump supporters, before election night, is exactly how the limp wristed snowflakes acted when Hillary lost.
What I learned from it all... If the limp wristed snowflakes say Trump this and Trump that, it is exactly how they would handle it.
