St. Louis looked so welcoming and tolerant of diversity back then. What happened?
That was what I got from the commercial. How St. Louis has really changed? AB was slamming St. Louis?

It's awesome. Immigrants are what build this country. I'm in full support of legal immigrants. Illegal Aliens are a different story.

Unless they are Muslim or from certain countries then I don't support immigrants. You forgot to ad this to your post.

isn't it wonderful that we are a welcoming nation that makes about 1 million immigrants new citizens every year.

Sadly, for every 1 million immigrants who become new citizens, about 80 million around the world are born into such extreme poverty that they can't help themselves, and their governments won't either.

I would love to see our immigration efforts going to lifting up those 80 million born every year into poverty. I would love to see countries work with other countries to help them so that the brightest and best immigrants who come to America would want to stay in their own countries to support and make them rise up.

I'm sure even the OP would agree with this. We need to behave as we believe while protecting US citizens at the same time.

Oh yes Trump is going to fix that, after 120 days we won't have any home grown terror attacks. You never answered the question as to what specifically he might change in the current vetting process, the refugees are already heavily vetted so what might he change.

Some of his supporters are running around with his term of "extreme vetting", he is a master of showmanship but not much substance. I just don't see why this couldn't have been accomplished without a complete ban but that would have taken away from the public display and theater, the carnival moves on.

Leftists don't care about those people. They just want political pawns to vote them into power.

Heavily vetted? Based on what?
