The overthrow of the democratically elected Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh in favor of strengthening the monarchical rule of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi on 19 August 1953, orchestrated by the United Kingdom (under the name "Operation Boot") and the United States.
What an absolute MORON. He is a superficial JOKE of a president. WHO THE EFF spends all day yelling at foreign leaders on the phone and all night tweeting like Kim Kardashian?
And now, his first military action-A TOTAL FAILURE that ended with the death of a US soldier( RIP)
Man, Trump is such a work-a-holic he even works during dinner!
But honestly, the nuts and bolts of the operation should be handed to the POTUS with a simple thumbs up or down. Given the special forces dependant military doctrine we're currently working in it's likely the raid fell 100% within the scope of our overall mission.
It's important to remember taking casualties alone doesn't mean it's "botched". We still got the intel which was the overall point of the raid.
It's amazing how polarized people are that there was conservative support for four years of Benghazi hearings but when this happens the same people yawn and smugly claim "nothing to see here, move along" .
How can it possibly be ok even with the most diehard Trump fans that he didn't even bother to move his fat as$$ away from the dinner table and go to the situation room?
I do have a question
This is the report by Reuters
I'll admit I don't know exactly how the government and military works.
So, according to this report Trump "approved" the operation.
For Trump to approve it, it must have been submitted to him, no? By who? Presumably the military.
Why would the military submit an operation "without sufficient intelligence, ground support or adequate backup preparations"?
If a military knew Exactly what the enemy was going to do 100% of the time..........Then no one would oppose that military. There are no absolutes in combat. You have never heard the term " this is the best intel we have to go on"?
Yes and Obama didn't blame Hillary for it or Bush. They took responsibility. Yet you all are willing to let Trump blame all his foreign affairs blunders of late on Obama. The "list" that of course he couldn't review and determine whether to ban Muslims, now he cannot call off a military raid in Yemen....so much for the strong leadership of Trump who cannot make up his own mind and come up with his own foreign agenda I guess...
We are talking about Trump here. He will change anything he sees fit or doesn't like. So this logic doesn't apply to him.
So you were privy to all the people involved in and deciding the particulars of this mission...........Amazing. Keep us updated on those in the future.......

I tell you what is amazing. you trying to suggest a military operation that was successful in taking out a large number of high value targets and gaining what appears to be a very solid trove of intelligence is the same thing as Benghazi.
What most boggles my mind is the fact that you really think you made a point here.
"Trump approved the early Sunday morning raid, but it had been being prepared under the Obama administration for months.
The New York Times reported that Obama's national security aides had approved the plans for the risky attack, and that Obama had not acted because the military wanted to launch that attack on a moonless night." Trump merely gave the go ahead based off of months of preparation that occurred under Obama.
At that, these activities have risk, no matter who is president. If the moonless night came while Obama was still president, the same thing possibly would have occurred.
The poster appropriately put quotation marks around the statements that came from the NY Times, the subsequent statements in bold Are not from the NY Times, they might be the posters opinion or they might be from another source that he didn't attribute them to.
