Did our president really just ask attendees to pray for improved ratings for The Apprentice during his appearance at the National Prayer Breakfast? I've watched the clip several times now, and I still can't wrap my head around it. Truly a head-smacking moment.

I hope this is a joke.

With the world and the country going to hell in a handbasket, and children getting killed, he asks for prayers for ratings of his tv reality show?

I hope this is a misunderstanding. Surely he wouldn't do that.

I heard that and thought "What?" I think it was meant as a joke but it sure fell flat.

He's just started a war with the Governator. Gawd he can't even let go of his ego about a stupid tv show.

How appallingly inappropriate and beneath the office all this is.

Yes, the President of the United States of America is a curious individual, in many ways.

Edited to add: I rather like the response by the former Governor of California:

"Schwarzenegger promptly replied via a Twitter video: "Hey Donald. I have a great idea. Why don't we switch jobs? You take over TV, cause you're such an expert in ratings. And I take over your job, so that people can finally sleep comfortably again."

It's almost as if Trump's administration is being plotted by Shonda Rhimes.

Where is Jake Ballard when we need him?
