Black Caucus chafes at Latino who wants to join - POLITICO

Quote:
Rep. Adriano Espaillat wants to join the Congressional Black Caucus. The question for the group's members is whether he qualifies as African-American.

So far, the answer is no.

Espaillat, who in November became the first Dominican-American elected to Congress, identifies himself as a “Latino of African descent.” The CBC has a long-standing policy of limiting its caucus to African-American members, denying membership to white lawmakers in the past who have tried to join, even if they represent majority-minority districts.
Democrat racism has become so institutionalized and common that this would never generate serious headlines (as it would if the roles were reversed and Republicans were accused of such) even if the media were honest, which they aren't.

Keep it classy, Dems.

Just another day in the life of the racist, bigoted, liberal democrats.
They prove who they are every day.

Then why do they overwhelmingly vote Democrat given the Democrats support open borders with Mexico?

So what. They refused to allow African American Congressman JC Watts to belong because he was a Republican.

Just par for the course.

I don't see why you have a problem with this. They have a requirement that this guy doesn't meet. So what's the problem?

If the women's caucus denies admission to one who self-identifies as female, would you find that sexist?

Or if an hispanic caucus denies admission to someone who is 1/16 hispanic and doesn't have a hispanic constituency, would you find that racist?

Trying to make a story out of nothing is pretty petty. You're grasping at straws. You'd love it if the Democrats were the same as the Republicans. But they aren't.
