1) Yeah I said Arlo was his son

2) So Arlo's mom and Woody's wife suggested that. So what, people have suggested "Jeremy" by Pearl Jam is about Columbine, but it isn't. People suggested there were Satanic messages in Judas Priest songs, but there weren't. I'm just sayin' that if Woody thought it were important enough to matter that he would have mentioned it to his son who was also a folk musician, activist and very familiar with his father's music.

Note to liberals: Research what you intend to use to make a political statement. Duh.
I'm confident that Lady Gaga knew the history of the song. She isn't stupid in the least and she is a huge reader, even singing about being made fun of for being so bookish.

So... When is she going to relinquish her private property, personal possessions, and her million$, in the spirit of the song she chose to sing? Hmmm...?

On a side note, I just rewatched the movie, Alice's Restaurant, not too long ago, and I put the LP on the player every Thanksgiving.

Of course you are as it fits into your view set... It could also be true that she was "asked" to stick to certain songs or, proposed a list to be approved.
They sure as hell weren't going to give her carte blanche to sing or say whatever she wished...

It fits what I know about Lady Gaga. I'm, admittedly, a huge fan. She planned that show, chose the songs, picked the costumes, etc.

So... When is she relinquishing her private property, as her song choice advocates?

Nobody?

You need to read this, not specifically about Columbine, but shows the appropriation of the song to events that it is not even about.

Pearl Jam

Jeremy came out in 1991. Columbine was in 1999. Jeremy is not about something that hadn't even happened yet, and nobody has ever claimed that it is.
