January 11, 2017 - President Elect Trump gives a Press Conference and Jim Acosta throws a temper tantrum, stands on a chair and yells at the Mr Trump that he must be given a question - Trump says NO, you are rude, sit down - you are FAKE NEWS. The Media goes bonkers.
“We’re sending surrogates to places where we think it makes sense to promote our agenda,” said a White House official, acknowledging that CNN is not such a place, but adding that the ban is not permanent.
A CNN reporter, speaking on background, was more blunt: The White House is trying to punish the network and force down its ratings.
Administration officials are still answering questions from CNN reporters. But administration officials including White House press secretary Sean Spicer and senior counselor Kellyanne Conway haven't appeared on the network's programming in recent weeks.
(Update: On Wednesday, the day after this article was published, the White House made Dr. Sebastian Gorka, a Deputy Assistant to the President for national security available for an interview.)
On February 1, they send a minor Administration official - still no Trump Administration on Jake Tapper's Sunday show ..... oops, Time for another Tantrum.
News comes out on Monday, Feb 6 that they are thinking about "banning" Kelly Anne Conway because she is "incompetent" and that SHE called them and asked to be on the show and they turned her down.
Kelly Anne says they called her and she had to refuse because she had plans with her family. What makes the most sense here? TeamTrump has worked every single day since the Inauguration - including Saturdays and Sundays. That's 15 days with non-stop work, until they all took Saturday & Sunday off.
Sounds pretty reasonable that they would like to "spend time with family" - it's also been non-stop "Outrage" by the Media since long before the Inauguration.
Sounds like an excellent plan for the Trump Administration to give CNN what they are asking for. According to the WSJ - Trump wants Kelly Anne to focus on Communications. Makes her job easier if CNN is not interested in talking to her - you can bet they won't be talking to the others in the Administration also, she is in charge of that.
I think CNN will get what they ask for and they can't blame the Trump Administration anymore for "Freezing they Out".
Your timeline needs to begin a day earlier when CNN tastefully broke the news about a Buzzfeed report connecting Trump and Russia. Trump denied he had been briefed by Intellegence about the report.
On 1/11, the President Elect used the press conference to blast Buzzfeed and CNN.
I have not located a clip that shows Acosta standing on a chair. Perhaps I missed it. Perhaps you could post it to support your remark.
It eventually came out Trump had been briefed by Intellegnce of the existence of a report linking him to Russia.
A more secure POTUS/ Admin would own it and take back the claim CNN reported fake news.
Fast forward to this weekend:
NYT reports the White House offered up Kellyanne in lieu of Pence for a weekend CNN interview. NYT also reports CNN has serious questions about Kellyanne's credibility.
Given that Kellyanne used an " alternative fact" to attempt to get support for the admin's shotgun order to temporarily ban entry from those with passports from specified countries. She claimed she misspoke. She failed to mention she misspoke to 3 different news outlets.
I would love to see the WH put a ban on the networks that lie, The communist news network would be first on the list. Followed closely with anything with NBC in it's logo.
CN
If you ban networks that color the news, you would have to add Fox News to the list, too.
The last POTUS who consistently pushed back on media was Nixon.
LOL, no, that's not what they are doing.... they are just making sure that they're the ones doing the lying.... big difference.
"Control the message"..... #1 rule for any propaganda ministry.
It funny you mentioned "Control the Message" Obama did a excellent job of that and there is many still loyal to that misfit we call Obama.
Kellyanne is in a difficult place when she has to speak of non issues to CNN of HRC friendly network. This story has not really gone anywhere and Liberals just will not let it go!
These net works MSBC, Cnn and political opinion of the left are working together to discredit and eventually try to impeach Trump. The sad thing is they are really do not want to report the news accurately.
If Trump was smart, although we all know he is far from that, he would keep her away from the media. He must be getting tired of her looking so stupid in front of the camera all the time.
Conway's consist use of "alternative facts," such as the nonexistent and roundly ridiculed "Bowling Green Massacre," pushed CNN to pointedly turn down the White House's offer to have her appear on the network's Sunday shows, a decision which may become permanent.
I would love to see other networks start refusing to put this blatant liar on the air.
Well, maybe Trump will sign an EX order and ban CNN.
They shouldn't doubt he'll do it or whether he CAN do it. They gave him enough for feeding the questions to Hillary before the debate. For that alone they should lose their license.

That can only be a plus for Kellyanne Conway. It's not as though CNN has anything to offer in being a reliable source of anything except baseless attacks on her boss, LOL.
Time to move The White House Press Corps offsite and only invite C-SPAN in.
Or, and I have wondered about this for decades, why doesn't The White House video its own half hour show that it puts on its website or YouTube? You know, call it something like "Today at The White House." It doesn't have to be only breaking news and briefings. They could do segments on past presidents and their families at the White House or a segment on the art that is there, how the staff prepares for state dinners, favorite dishes of past presidents, the official photographer's job, etc.. A historian could be hired to do some segments or they could get one that already works for the federal government and who has a good personality for TV.
