you need only to look at the failed policy of "austerity " to find the root cause of populist support ,sectarianism and racism in the EU.

They simply picked the wrong economic tool and Obama picked the right one. Sure both the EU and the USA have partly kicked the can down the road, but at least the USA did it while holding on as many jobs as we could.

sadly the vast majority will never know or understand just how close we came nor our comparatively successful route out. Obama was not perfect but history will recall him as the guy who did what 99% of publications never do. Leaders that avoid disaster tend to get no credit. Obama avoided the very mistake that the EU made and the one that the GOP wanted Obama to do...

He had to fight and compromise to do it, but it saved us economically meanwhile the EU nearly broke and is still struggling to find a way out of massive debts and losses incurred.

But I know, Obama bad hugely bigly.

Andrew Neil mentioned some data points in this interview. Obama was actually doing good job of deep vetting and admitted very few refugees without making any fuss. May be that is what Trump should doing. It is very difficult to do proper vetting anyway from these places. He could have made vetting much more difficult for these countries without making any news.

Most Europeans don't want a mass influx of Muslims or mass immigration full stop, which is one of the reasons for Brexit and the rise of the populist right in Europe.

The politicans haven't listened to the people, which is why people are seeking change from Brexit to Trump to what ever else happens in terms of up and coming elections in Europe this year.

Just keep Muslims out and deport the ones already there/here.

Problem solved.

Who needs 'em, anyway?

Nobody.
