I think you may just have found the inscription to put over the entrance to Trump's Presidential library. In yuuuge gold-leaf letters cut in Corinthian marble.

I so hope Trump doesn't get into a fuss with the Japanese PM.

Fingers crossed.

There were a lot of complaints. They quit when Obama starting handing them no bid contracts.

Yes, this is one of the worst cases of quid pro quo in US history. I heard that the Japanese funneled millions to Trump personally, all in this sinister plot for a free round of golf.

This is way worse than the Clinton funneling a hundred + million dollars into the Clinton Foundation, and them personally receiving millions in return for selling policy at the State Department.

So, the idea is the President shouldn't be allowed to own a business? That's abdurd.

We should all be able to agree that Emoluments is being used in a perverted context in order to advance an agenda. An arms-length transaction is far from being a payoff to Trump. Had a government paid millions for a room that typically went for $2500 a night, for instance, there would be the appearance of impropriety.

This is sour grapes and a bunch of lawyers twisting words into an argument that really need not be made.

No. The President can't make money from foreign countries while in office due to the obvious potential for a conflict of interest. The fact That Trump did not include Saudi Arabia on the immigration list suggests conflict of interest may already be affecting him.

No, the president cannot have a conflict of interest.

The Emolument Clause says the president can't accept gifts, or be employed by a foreign government.

I asked what the point in the end is here and really, I've not seen an answer. Trying to get Trump return a few hindered dollars?

All presidents have profited from their actions of president. It's so silly to think there is any difference when a politician says their investments are put into a blind trust. They know what they are holding and how their actions are going to affect those holdings.
