Trump has claimed all along that the elections were rigged which includes voter fraud. Bernie found that out 1st hand - least we forget!

It did not take us long to convict him on all charges...it's easy when they confess. But the trial took days because we had to use an interpreter for both the defendant and his sister.

He got 40 years to life...and now sits in a prison in CA...which at the end of his time he will be deported.

Makes no sense to me. Deport him now!
That is where increased border security comes in. There are endless stories of criminals being deported many times.

This is why we need better security along our border - this tragic case just happened recently here. This guy was here illegally, after being arrested and RELEASED in 2014 for assault of a family member. In 2016 he murdered a ten year old girl.

Quote:
A relative of the slain little girl, Zavala-Garcia was the lone suspect in the case. He illegally entered the United States on an unknown date and unknown location. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers first encountered and lodged a detainer on Zavala-Garcia Oct. 10, 2014, after he was convicted in Smith County for assaulting a family member, which caused injury. He entered ICE custody Oct. 21, 2014 and was released on bond the same day.
Uncle Charged In Death Of Child Found In Well; Was In US Illegally « CBS Dallas / Fort Worth

Until we tighten up border security, it does no good to simply deport criminals. They just come right back.

Politifact rates Trump's statement about illegal aliens as mostly true:
Trump: Nearly '180,000 illegal immigrants' have criminal records but haven't been deported | PolitiFact

This NY Times article says this:
Quote:
Trump makes it seem that hardened immigrant criminals are let loose on the populace. Not true.
This is how to deport immigrants with criminal records - NY Daily News

Really? Tell that to the family of this dead little girl.

I can't believe they actually put this woman in jail for 8 years. This is crazy, people have been convicted of violent crimes and had less time. Only one person received over 3 years in recent history, why not just deport her. A jury of 10 women and one man convicted her to 8 years, they are nuts.

Yes, she is (was?) a permanent resident in the US.

No, she didn't vote for Romney nor Paxton - she submitted a fraudulent vote in each case.

Nor is she a registered republican, except in the sense that she expressed a preference for the party that has tried, will incarcerate & then deport her. Presumably her US political party preference will change, not that it matters much beyond her personal opinion.

The more interesting question, Will her permanent resident status in the US be revoked, as a result of her crime & deportation? I suspect so, all things being equal. But it is Texas, one simply never knows ... (& of course, federal regs probably determine that issue anyway.)

This is highly unusual in Texas. Voter fraud cases here are rare, but this sentence is extreme.

I'm almost certain it'll be reduced on appeal...however, I don't think there's any way she can avoid being deported. Representing yourself as a US citizen is an unforgivable sin in the eyes of USCIS/ICE.

8 years = about $320,000 to house her

Is that a good deal? Not to me.

Yeah, really. I'd rather they just deport her and be done with it.

She voted for Romney and Paxton in 2012 & 2014 prior to being caught, those votes counted at the time, whatever that has to do with the major point.

The point is this is extreme even by Texas standards, I don't see that keeping her locked up for 8 years accomplishes anything. The County DA was on a mission, even Paxton was willing to accept a plea.

By the way Paxton was charged with securities fraud.
Nowhere near severe enough.

160 years in supermax solitary confinement is more appropriate.

Whatshe did was defecate on the graves of every veteran who gave his life for the defense of this nation.

I hope she dies in prison.
