But cost is definitely a reasonable argument. IE how much do we value our basic humanity to others. And there should be a limit, the argument is if we are at that limit or not.
The fact that our government built much of our social safety nets with Ponzi schemes requiring an ever growing population doesn't mitigate all of the problems we as humans cause our environment.

Please. We are literally helping Osama Bin Laden accomplish his stated goals.

Does it deserve attention? Absolutely, but look at trhe numbers and the facts. It deserves about 1/5th the attention and spending we give it.

We should be curing cancer, heart disease, making safer showers, self driving cars, etc. We should have policy set by logic and reason instead of fear mongering.

Our population is too high.
No it's not. Our population is actually helped by immigrants because native born Americans aren't reproducing fast enough to increase the population rate of the country. We are sparsely populated compared to most any other country, even countries with a similar high standard of living. You hating immigrants and refugees doesn't make your points valid.

Stop being afraid of things that arent that dangerous. Sheesh. Stop helping terrorists succeed.
OK. Tell that to the Parisians.

Paris to build protective glass walls at the Eiffel Tower - Feb. 9, 2017

It was no less impressive when they had their little march to show how unafraid they were when some fire crackers sent them scurrying away.

Paris attack victims

But one of the vigils - held close to where one of Friday's attacks was mercilessly carried out - ended in panic after mourners said they heard gunshots and desperately fled from the scene, trampling over flowers and knocking over candles.
So you can cease and desist from your smug superiority. I have little doubt you'd soil your pants and run away screaming in panic.

9/11 only killed 3000 people. Yet that completely altered the entire fabric of our society to one of paranoia, surveillance and constant warfare.

How likely one is to die takes into account almost nothing. Nor does it take into account what can happen if we destabilize. I know i would never be able to count on the likes of you. You'd likely not even be able to take the safety off.

No, we should be concentrating on historical precedents to have enough cultural cohesion so as not to have civil war. Safe showers in Yugoslavia or Ukraine would do nothing. Social break down is by far the largest immediate threat.

Yawn. Ever actually been shot at? Probably not. I assure you, I can take the safety off. I have been shot at.

Your link to people being afraid is exactly my point.

You can count on me to be the voice of reason. I think we know what we can count on you to be. The voice of fear.

That just means you won the argument. They usually leave with a cloud of this squid ink.

Heck I remember during the bankster scam days Republicans used to call me a Marxist when I quoted Adam Smith. Today I'd be called a Nazi for quoting MLK.

The source of terrorism is radical Islam. The 9/11 hijackers came from 4 different countries - not just Saudi Arabia
There have been 72 people from the 7 countries Trump targeted who have been convicted of terrorist plots in the US. Convicted.
17 came in as refugees, 3 as students and 25 became American citizens.

Report: 72 convicted of terrorism from 'Trump 7' mostly Muslim countries | Washington Examiner

If I had some cockroach spray I would use it to keep cockroaches out of my house. But there is no such thing.
So I use insect spray.
But I only use it in my house. They can go anywhere else in the world they want to go.
