Here's the question: if trumps appeal was primarily economic, why didn't resonate with black and Latino voters? Are blacks and Latinos not affected by the economy?

WOW! That's an awesome little anecdote that you may or may not have, there. The numbers bear out that blacks and Latinos voted overwhelmingly against Trump.

Second, Rust Belt voters did not vote because their country is squalid and war torn. They voted for Trump because they've seen job-providers escape across the border while job-takers come in illegally and take what's left of the work to do in blue-collar America.

Third, Flint, Michigan is hardly the analogy you'd like to use here since it is ran by Democrats and has absolutely terrible sociological statistics.

If you seek to take down Trump voters, find another argument. This one is dead.
noooo, it seems like a completely valid argument to me.

Rust belters fell for Trump's message of fear, THEY fear losing their jobs and they FEAR never finding another. Trump lied and promised to bring jobs back when there is simply no way for him to do it without driving them into deeper poverty and debt. Thus fear drove their choice, not politics Trump did not offer to explain how he would do it , merely that he would somehow magically do it. And your guys simply swallowed his excuses and took him at his word. If trump had a plan he would have bragged about it for the entire year, he could not keep his mouth shut if he wanted to. The truth is Trump had no plan and has no plan, he has surrounded himself with failures and yes men.

what I see is a weaken threatened Right wing who want to put their horrid past behind them and to pretend they are good upstanding Americans when in your hearts you know your guys wear the black hats.

I mean, yeah, but blacks and latinos typically vote Democratic anyway.

But what question are you trying to ask, is what I'm getting at? Do you mean, why did any black or latino people vote for Trump?

And I'm not trying to attack you, guy, I'm trying to understand what you're asking.

gladhands's implying that many people voted for Trump not just for "economic" reasons. And I agree with that premise.

Well, yeah they did. But some blacks and latinos also voted for Trump because of they're sick of the Democrats using blacks and latinos as pawns to further their agenda while not helping out inner cities. And some latinos I know are pissed that they had to come into the country legally, while illegal ones give them a bad name. Hillary just pandered to black people (I USE HOT SAUCE YALL) while Trump actually had some real issues to say about black communities that resonated.

I recall that Trump got a higher black and latino voter percentage than McCain and Romney. I'm too lazy to look it up, but the stats are out there.

Worst thing for his type is another Obama economy, where the Dow triples, we reach full employment, there are no terrorist attacks, and we gain respect on the world stage. When that happens, they can't distract us while he robs from the poor and gives it to the rich.

It's a sham. A majority of Americans know that. A majority voted that way, and he still one. He knew the rules, and exploited them to win the whitehouse, just like he did to cheat people out of their pay.

According to him, it makes him smart. By the time his followers wake up, it'll be too late for them to realize they are the ones who will pay the biggest price.

That's exactly what he did, and qw will all pay the price.

Dammit.

Come on. America has flaws, like any other country, but it's surely not a terrible country.

Have you see the places that refugees are trying to escape to come here?!?

Even the Rust Belt, angry voters who are upset about jobs have it better than refugees.

Even in Flint, where the water is polluted and dangerous, those people still have warm homes and a roof over their heads. And food to eat.

So, again, I ask you...

What is so terrible that must be made great and can only be done by a lying swindler like Trump?
The very fact that this is now the bar you set for measuring American greatness answers your question.
