Actually the Layfette, LA movie theater shooting by Houser in 2015 is a perfect example, he should have never had a gun.

Right. It is the whole privacy issue like pk mentioned in the first reply.

IMO, anyone who gets a SS disability check for being "mentally disabled" ought to have to appear before a judiciary board to see if their illness warrants removal of their 2A right.

I know it flies in the face of the privacy rights, but I think when you are getting tax payer dollars because of a "mental disability", it isn't unreasonable to ask for a court ruling for the general safety of the populace.

Simply making a blanket law like Obama did is just plain unconstitutional.

Why should an Alzheimer's addled old fool be prevented from guarding his home by sitting on the porch with a shotgun on his lap?

I don't think you have to be mentally disabled to have this kick in, just having someone else handle the ss payments will raise a red flag. Now the checks are electronic so a person not great with technology might want some other family member to deal with it. This law is over reaching.

Are you even an American? If so, shame on you for not knowing this. To legally take people's rights away or declare someone's incompetent:

Legal How-To: Declaring Someone Incompetent - Law and Daily Life

File for Guardianship.
Consult an Attorney.
Schedule a Psychological Evaluation.
Submit the Evaluation to the Court.
Attend the Hearing.

Not doctor shall decide your mental capability! Somehow Trump is called Nazi but Obama was not, not even for blatantly bypassing the due process in this case.

I think anybody agrees with Obama on this issue should be declared mentally ill as they clearly can't see the what is wrong here.

In case you are blind or ignorant:

DUE PROCESS!!!
