The real story is not Flynn. But it isn’t government leaks, either. No, the “real story here” is Trump himself—and the continuing mystery of his ties to Russia.

He would not have been capable of running a complex political realignment with Russia, and he was woefully ill-cast for the role of national security adviser. An army intelligence officer who had spent most of his career in the Middle East and Afghanistan, Flynn had no background in diplomacy, not to mention Asian or European affairs. And it strains credulity that someone with such limited experience was acting on his own initiative when he spoke with Kislyak on December 29, the day of the sanctions announcement. If, as reported, he called five times in a single day, then he was on a mission, and probably not of his own devising.

Virtually all the reporters covering the Flynn imbroglio have lost track of this glaring mystery, focusing exclusively on the former general’s improprieties. In doing so, they are doing the White House a gigantic favor.

It’s time to have a true, bipartisan investigation, outside of Congress and insulated from White House pressure. The 9/11 Commission provides a good model. Getting that set up will be a lot healthier for our democracy than getting lost in the minutiae of the Flynn affair.

Who Told Michael Flynn to Call Russia? - POLITICO Magazine
And therein lies the issue^^^^^. Why would it make sense to imagine that Flynn did what he did on is own? There really needs to be that bipartisan investigation just as what was done for 911. If that does not play out it exposes the entire right wing of the Congress and Senate as FOS and unworthy of being called Americans. What would they be so afraid of?

Flynn and tRump are excellent liars. They will LIE LIE LIE.

Flynn will fall on his sword for tRump....at least until threatened with hard time in Leavenworth. Then all bets are off.

I don't know, maybe Trump? Apparently Flynn said he did not bring up sanctions and now changed his story because the NSA has the calls. So Pence fired him. Who wants someone who cannot keep their story straight.

Ya know what's illegal about it? Nothing.

The FBI in late December reviewed intercepts of communications between the Russian ambassador to the United States and retired Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn — national security adviser to then-President-elect Trump — but has not found any evidence of wrongdoing or illicit ties to the Russian government.

So Flynn did not contact Russia and discuss the sanctions? And he was fired for something else? Is that what you are implying?

Yes he did. looked into it myself. The Logan act is not applied to incoming president elects. That's why Obama could and did contact official in Iraq while not president.

Considering it was Russia and not New Zealand , ya probably want to keep the story straight.
