you do realize that in the 4 cases you cited above, the first two were US citizens and the second two dealt with specific and not general situations involving ICE. The first reason listed for sanctuary status just goes to show you how screwed up our politically correct system is. Luckily we have someone in charge who will fix this mess.
I'm guessing here that you are referring to the four cases I referenced in which federal courts have held that it it unlawful to detain a person on ICE hold because they are not based on probable cause and are not an arrest warrant.
The fact that in the detainee was a citizen is irrelevant because the Supreme Court held in Zadvydas v. Davis (2001) that "due process" of the 14th Amendment applies to all aliens in the United States whose presence maybe or is "unlawful, involuntary or transitory." And the last two case are directly related and deal with ICE detainers.
If ICE wants law enforcement to detain people they need to provide them with a valid arrest warrant. There is no law enforcement agency in the US who would refuse to hold people on an arrest warrant signed by a judge. ICE has known about this for decades. In 2014 the head of ICE issued an advisory that detainers are being labeled by the courts as a violation of 4th amendment rights. https://www.dhs.gov/sites/default/fi...ommunities.pdf
I have no explanation for why ICE refuses to fix the problem, if they did there would be far fewer Cities with 'sanctuary policies'.
They get SNAP for their anchors. They usually have a good number of children, so they get a pretty big check. The adults partake in the feast. Meanwhile, the father of the family works under the table, not paying taxes. When the adults get sick, they simply go to an emergency room, and when the bill comes, they ignore it. Why pay for it? That's what American citizens are for.
I said in an earlier post that US born children of the undocumented can receive some benefits, sorry if you missed that. And of course they go to the ER and if you don't like the fact that they receive treatment then blame Reagan, he's the one who proposed it in 1986
The fix for all of this is to put employers who hire them in prison because you might be surprised that a good majority of them do not work 'under the table', but rather they show their employer a fake ID and the employer knows full well it's fake but fails to use e-verify.
"...The actual percentage of immigrants lacking legal permission who pay taxes is much higher, according to researchers. The institute's report estimates about a third of such immigrants nationally are homeowners, subjecting them to property tax payments. Another 50 percent are believed to pay income taxes. And as much as 75 percent of the population is believed to pay into the U.S. Social Security system (a system of benefits they wouldn't be eligible to receive anyway unless they became U.S. citizens)."Study: 'Undocumented' Immigrants Pay Billions in Taxes | US News
I haven't noticed anything different in my neck of the woods either. Everything is open and traffic is normal.
Just like any other day.
