Regulations are cool.

Pigs = pork.

US pork is very well regulated and is considered a premium product because it meets comparatively strict standards...

The USA sells about 6-10 billion dollar worth of pork to China each year.... twenty years ago we sold very little outside of the usa... these days our good clean premium pork sells around the world.

We currently export about 2 million metric tonnes of pork each year. We will lose our premium pricing and some volume if our standards fall.....

This is why deregulation might sound good but is really bad long term. Trump either knows or has stumbled on to a quick buck to juice the books for a couple of years, but he does so at the cost of your long term job security... You can deregulate and profit more for a short while, but it catches up and you have to grind your way back...

Don't forget when the Cuyahoga River in Cleveland literally caught on fire. Yes, a river...caught on fire. Multiple times, actually.

Don't be too sure about that.

There has to be a balance.
Let me guess, you're an ATV rider and just love to go four-wheeling on federally owned land and don't see why you can't do that everywhere on federal land.

I've experienced what ATVs can do, and it ain't pretty. That damage can last a long, long time.

There is already laws in place for this at both the federal and state levels, at the state level it could exceed federal law. The new law would have eliminated vasts amount of areas rich in coal for mining and was simply way to burdensome.

Perhaps regulations related to logging. Or what if oil was discovered inside of one of the national forests in the state?
Forests need to either be managed through logging or allowed to burn, logging when done properly helps preserve a natural cycle. Forests that are not allowed to burn end up with vasts amounts of fuel standing and on the ground. When do they burn it leaves a sterile landscape because of all the fuel.

Just FYI there is slightly more forested area in the US that there was 100 years ago, it's remained relatively stable in that time frame.

As far as drilling on public lands here in PA the state game commission controls vasts amounts of acreage. The land land has been obtained over the past 100 years primarily through hunting license fees. It's open to hunters and the general public but it's probably a wise decision to stay out of those areas during hunting season. By leasing lands to the gas drillers they have brand new source of revenue allowing them to keep the hunting licenses in check, expand the agency and it helps acquire new land that will be preserved for hunting purposes and uses by the general public.

If it can be done T310 can do it! He pays out of pocket for all his medical needs, he filters his own water... he's awesome!

We wouldn't have an EPA or the Clean Water Act (both signed into law by a Republican president!) without that 1969 fire on the Cuyahoga, but the Cuyahoga wasn't the only river in the country that ever caught fire - the Chicago River, for one, caught fire much more frequently.

Were you complaining when the EPA was colluding with environmental groups?

That is two way street, when EPA officials have connections with environmental groups?

If this is the extent of your thinking on the subject, I can understand why you're completely baffled--probably about a lot of things.
