It is a disgrace to human kind that 'personalities' like PDP makes millions and millions of dollars per year making the most inane videos around. Even more so are his blind and passionate fans.

Video game walkthroughs acting like a moron? Check.

He doesn't deserve any of this attention, now that he's so full of himself he thinks himself as a 'free speech' crusader or something.

Whoops, sorry City Date PDP fans!

Yes, and it's a sad commentary on the state of today's popular culture -- not that someone can make 14 million a year from making Youtube videos, but that THIS guy does it by posting completely inane and unwatchable drivel.

Okay, here is what happened:

He made a video mocking Fiverrr. He wanted to point out that people would do literally anything for $5, and that it's such a sham of a site because people don't have any actual skills. So he went to a few accounts, offered them $5 to say outlandish things, NEVER ONCE believing anyone would actually say it. What is the one of the most outlandish thing you can say these days? Turns out, 2 people that he paid $5 actually did it. He didn't think that they would because he picked the most insane thing to even say, but in this he did prove his point that Fiverrr is a bunch of crap.

He made another video about YouTube's "Heroes" program. This is where a bunch of d**ckheads with an inferiority complex sign up to go around and "monitor" comments. If they don't like what is being said, they delete them. These are not mods who have a neutral stance, these are people who delete anything and everything that they don't like. So PewDiePie made a video comparing YouTube's "Heroes" program to that of Nazi Germany.

He made another video mocking idiots who tried to call him a Nazi, before the WSJ threw their hissy fit. Because some people have no comprehension skills at all, they did not get what PewDiePie was trying to do in earlier videos.

Then the WSJ decided to write a hit piece on PewDiePie. They backed Disney and YouTube/Google in to a corner, and Disney and YouTube/Google being the little cucks that they are, gave in to the absolute lies from the so called "journalists" that wrote that bs story.

They took everything out of context. They went through hundreds of videos, and gave you all only a small piece of the video to make you believe that "Look! See?!?!! He really IS a Nazi!" instead of discussing the CONTEXT of the videos.

As I wrote yesterday about fake news, what happened was a HUGE backlash on the media. PewDiePie has over 53 million subscribers, so yes, a LOT of people DO care. Maybe people on City Data don't care, but millions upon millions DO care about PewDiePie and his channel. They went out in force to those sites that tried to call PewDiePie a Nazi and voiced their opinions on the blatant lies so loudly, that some publications changed the headlines of their articles.

This is not the first time that the putrid media has attacked this guy. They always talk about how much he makes. He makes a LOT of money (millions per year...yes, Millions, with an M per year) entertainging 53 million people on YouTube...so regardless of what some people think about him, the fact is, he makes YouTube/Google, video game developers, a plethora of companies a LOT! A LOT! of money.

So despite all the pissing and moaning right here on this forum about how "disgusting" it all is that he makes that much money, he's still going to make it. And maybe some of you need to quit the bellyaching and realize it doesn't matter what you think. A LOT of YouTubers are making millions per year by putting up videos that are even LESS entertaining than anything PewDiePie does. Suck it up and deal with the changing times. And don't be so envious of someone elses gains.

What the lying ass media never focuses on is that:

a) He is by himself. He does not have a production team. He does not have sound men and camera men and editors. He does all of the work.

b) He has raised millions and millions of dollars for various charities. All those people calling his audience a bunch of dumb ass kids have no idea how much money those dumb ass kids have given because of PewDiePie asking them to donate to this charity or that, in some of his videos.

c) If they actually took the time to listen to him, they would realize that beneath all of that cussing, Felix (PewDiePie), is actually a very humble, very nice person.

But that doesn't sell newspapers now does it. So instead they attack him, relentlessly, in the media. The fact is, he has single handedly made his channel an empire. He started it 6 or so years ago, playing in his room between college classes, he gained an audience, his channel grew to ridiculous volumes of viewers and subscribers, he is the #1 YouTuber on YouTube and has been for quite some time. He makes a ton of money each year, he brings in a LOT of money for a lot of companies, he raises millions for charity, and he makes jokes. He makes a lot of jokes. But he's a gamer, not a comedian, and he admits that he's not a seasoned comedian. He just says what he thinks is funny.

In this instance, the "journalists" flat out lied about his content and labeled him a Nazi. Even when some idiotic white supremicists were starting to glorify PewDiePie, because they, too, are too stupid to realize CONTEXT, he wrote an "open letter" telling them that no, he's not a Nazi, he's not racist, he doesn't hate Jews, he's not their role model, and basically told them to just stop.

Now there's 53 million plus people, both young and older, who now realize that the lame stream media is a bunch of lying pigs. Those 53 million plus were potential future subscribers to publications like the WSJ. Those 53 million plus were filled with some that the media specifically targets with their fake news, (young people), and what it did was make a whole lot of them realize, (you can see it in the comments sections of his videos) that...wait a minute...that's what they do to Trump, too!

The result was the PewDiePie gained even MORE subscribers from people who of course knew who he was but had never subscribed. Some of them don't even like his content and they STILL subscribed to him to show their support. And the lame ass liars in media lost a market of 53 million plus people.

Hope it was worth it to the three "journalists" at the WSJ to lose all of those people over stupid lies that are EASILY proven as lies.

its quite simple. Lots of people are interested in taking down independent youtubers. They do not eat from the troff. Deep state forces hate independence and the media wishes to retain its monopoly. They are using their main weapons of racism and bigotry. Never mind most comedic material is full of the stuff, he has over 50 million viewers , and they are the up coming generation.

Nobody who watches his videos genuinely believes PewDiePie is an anti-semite. Do you honestly think a channel run by a Neo-Nazi would have over 50 million global subscribers?

It's simply another case of the mainstream media deliberately taking things out of context in order to manufacture a story and fulfill an agenda. Even to the extent where they took a freeze frame of him innocently stretching his arm in order to make it appear as he was doing a Nazi salute.

The fact is that the traditional media don't like internet stars such as PewDiepie, because they are becoming increasingly popular and influential, and this damages their industry. He has thousands upon thousands of hours of footage on his channel that can be carefully twisted in order to destroy his image. So he was a perfect target.

Personally I'm not a fan of PewDiePie's channel, but I thought it was worth listening to his point of view, and he does provide a balanced response, acknowledging that some of his jokes were in bad taste, but also pointing out that he has been deliberately misrepresented by a viscous and contemptible media machine.

He has a huge millenial/gen z following (50 million subscribers). The media definitely picked a wrong battle. Check out his followers' comments to his reaction to his attacks. Many instantly have seen MSM as the enemy.

And you thought Trump had devoted followers.

Actually, nobody really cares about youtubers or even knows who they are. Never heard of this pie guy, but I don't really get information from youtube (other than how to change a shower head and things along those lines).

It appears that most of these people are rather needy or narcissistic attention seekers and aren't about to change the world, simply the views of those easily influenced by anyone with a computer or smart phone.

Before youtube, there were people on street corners preaching their opinions. They aren't really very impressive in person.

The media really is falling apart. The mask has slipped, we know that they're biased, public trust in their industry is at a historic low; their revenues and ratings are in decline, and they keep picking the wrong fights.

There is no way in hell that the media can emerge victorious from this one, not only because of who they chose to target, but also the reason for them targeting him. With this move they're alienating a key demographic that they will rely upon heavily in the coming decades.

I don't watch PewDiePie. Not my thing. And if the anti-Semitic allegations about said youtuber are true, then I will never watch that channel.
