Nice call.

The author seems to be totally and completely ignorant of the fact that Executive Order 11490 (which he names several times) was revoked by Executive Order 12656 on November 18, 1988.

Communism has proved that it is a failed economic situation. The last bastions of communism are rapidly (relatively speaking) are crumbling and capitalism is taking over. At one point perhaps some socialistic measures helped certain nations to get on their feet through things like land reform, temporary nationalization of certain industry that are necessary for the well being of the nation. Those industries of course depend on the nation, Steel in some, petroleum in others etc. This usually happened in countries that were moving from second or third world toward being a modern nation. When stability was established the majority of those extreme measures disappear. In some countries relatively soon (some of the Eastern European nations) and in others it is a long process (Cuba) because the rulers are almost demagogues and refuse to let go even when it is hurting the nation.

As I said on the thread about fascism, I believe that is the type of politics (corporatism) we will see in the future and for many reasons I won't put here at this time.
Communism, socialism, corporatism, fascism, or any other "ism" that aims to take away liberty from individuals will always exist no matter how much it has failed in history; there will always be people who want power over others.

Some "isms" are dead...like communism and feudalism and monarchism. I still think you have to keep an eye on "corporatism" (fascism, if you like)because it can take over quickly and with few people giving notice until it is too late. It is the newest of "isms" and used well it has an appeal to many across the political spectrum. it's failure up to this point was that Euro-fascism made too targets of different ideologies. Fascism is fine tuning itself. Neo-conservatism is an attempt in that direction.

What you say above is essentially true but you have stated it too broad of terms so it becomes a bit too simplistic. Yes there are always people who want power but those people would be fools if they tried to employ any of the three socio-economics that I mentioned in my first sentence.

Congress wants to reward stupid homeowners who bought homes they couldn't afford and then used them as an ATM. Some in Congress want to to nationalize our USA-based oil companies or tax them into oblivion (leaving us vulnerable to the terrorist, nationalized and communist companies).

I don't know, you tell me.

What are the names of these individuals that want to nationalize US oil companies or any other companies in this country? I have heard no member of Congress advocate this. Please tell me who they are by name and with concrete examples of each. If you mean Pelosi or Feinstein and the "California clique" I don't see that. These two have made a fortune from the private sector and I don't begrudge them their riches, this is America and business is business...unless we have a definite "conflict of interests" then the courts will settle it.

In the US big business owns the government and I like it that way because it means basically that you can make a lot of money honestly if you are smart. Yes the government runs AMTRAK for example...and look at it. it's a friggen mess that the government would like to dump but it has become a non-profit necessity that private industry wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole. Some on the left say that we would have more freedom if the government had more say in things. What good is that kind of freedom if you haven't the means to enjoy it?

OMG, we are not "Sliding into socialism". We were ripped out of that with Truman. We are now sliding into fascism, which very much is NOT socialism, although the majority of the nation would like their socialism back.

If anyone wants to argue me on that, I will gladly destroy you with facts.

As for nationalizing OIL? DO YOU REALIZE WHO OWNS THESE POLITICIANS? WTF WOULD ANY, FROM EITHER PARTY, BE SO RIDICULOUS? PLEASE FACT CHECK YOURSELF. NOW.

And to anyone still using the term "communism" as a scare tactic, or "socialism" for anything they don't like, without even understanding what the word means... or thinking they are the same thing, or that fascism is related to either, and not their opposite, or that Antifa is an actual "organization" and not a value, just as socialism, which ftr, is not a form of government, but rather a principle that can be applied to any kind of government and that every damn one of you should be for, or have any doubts what led to our nations ONLY Golden Age, please, pick up a damn book and start reading about WWII please.

We fought a damn war over it, ffs. The least y'all could do is frakking remember why.

Doing more research on income taxes...came across this. Ten *Planks of Communism

If Federal government has the power to tax you 1% on your income, why wouldn't it tax you 100%?

From 1945 to 1964, the highest Personal Income Tax Rate was 92%.

When Kennedy became President, he changed it to "only" 75%.

Later Reagan lowered it to 50%, and later to 28%. And revenues to the govt went UP as a result.
