go to Martha's vineyard ...costs money
go to the Bush ranch (which bush did quite often)....costs money

Camp David is old... needs to be updated...originally built as a camp for federal agents and their families in 1935-38..wasnt till 42 when FDR converted it to a presidential retreat named Shangri-La..... Ike renamed it David after his father and grandson..... Reagan used it more than anyother president

Camp David also has some security issues
The difference is taxpayer money spent to rent out rooms for diplomats, security, etc. at maralago goes in trumps personal pocket. Money spent on camp David, or Martha's Vineyard, or any other location does not go in that presidents pocket.

Do you really not see the difference?

He isn't concerned about security, he is concerned about using taxpayer money to pay himself. Secret service rents rooms in maralago and it directly profits trump and family. Diplomats stay there to get access to trump, directly profits trump.

That is literally called a conflict of interest.

this thread is rich lol people who defend an 8 TRILLION dollar debt during the last administration crying about a few dollars spent on protecting the President.

Camp David is a national treasure, a lot of important US history made there. Libs want to sell more federal lands? lol

Trump, Trump, Trump. How many times did Obama use Camp David .. a couple perhaps? It may indeed to be time to reconsider Camp David but let's not make this all about Trump. He isn't the only President (and likely would not be the only one in future either if it is still there) to not use it often enough to make it worthwhile.

As of May of 2015, Obama had visited Camp David 37 times. It wasn't his favorite retreat, but he did use it.

How does Obama's use of Camp David compare to past presidents? - CBS News

No, we "libs" do not want to sell more federal lands. We think it's hypocritical and wasteful for a president to spend such a great amount of taxpayers' money when he promised that he would save us money. We also are aware that's it's a conflict of interest to make people pay rent to stay at his place for presidential meetings. He's charging them money that goes into his own pocket, he's getting free advertising every time the place is mentioned, and besides, the admission price to that place has now DOUBLED. So it's business as usual. He's supposed to be the President but he's just acting like a greedy business man.

Yet you were silent when he saved over a billion dollars on the replacement for Air Force 1 that is used for these trips.

It's nothing more than a partisan double standard. No doubt about it.
