Why do you think the only choices are going to bed with Putin or having a cold war?

Wake up and smell the coffee. Putin is using Trumps naivete to advance his own interests.

If Trump said Iran and North Korea are pretty cool countries, you'd see the popularity of those countries skyrocket among the followers.
Is this how President Obama supporters worked? Is this why illegals are loved among the left and Iran is their buddy?

Vladimir Putin is on a bit of a hot streak among Republicans of late.

In new Gallup polling, more than 3 in 10 Republicans have a favorable view of Putin — almost three times the percentage who said the same in 2015.
Oh, please! And what about Hillary Clinton and the "Russian Reset?" Or Obama's "Tell Vladimir I'll be more flexible after the election."

Apparently, he must believe they were in bed with Putin.

Better than creating friction like Obama sending troops to the Russian border.

Look! Nobody said a damn thing about going to bed with Putin. Better relations with Russia is a good thing, not a bad thing. Better relations with any country is good. Wrap your liberal mind around that. Think!!!!

Anyone that ever thought that Russia would give up direct possession of the Crimea with the navy base at Sevastopol is deluding themselves. That would never happen no matter if Russia calls itself the Soviet Union, Russian Republic or the New Rome.

I agree with PM that whatever Russia is doing with or to its non NATO neighbors in "None of our business". Neither is their deal with Iran to ship Iranian oil through Syria to eastern Europe and start the bankruptcy of Saudi Arabia.

I don't recall. You'll have to ask them.

I specifically mean Rs who now think Putin (i.e., Russia) is our good buddy.

There's a difference between identifying areas where we can - and should - cooperate with Russia and thinking that Putin is a small-d democrat who can be trusted to have our back.

I've always been for cooperation, and think that Russian inclusion in joint international efforts in science, for example, is totally heartening.

And that was my opinion 30 years ago when Rs were unanimously calling Russia the evil empire and worrying about those commies lurking under their beds. But Putin/Russia have a long way to go before they convince me that they are no longer interested in armed conquest and maintaining those conquests by repression.

And they're not neoliberal, unless you are using a pretty different definition than I do. Putin/Russia is still basically a totalitarian state, they're just more willing to allow a popular culture than the old guard was. A lot like China in that respect.

scotty011 said nothing close to your statement.

Why do you change "improved relations with Russia" to "going to bed with Putin " ?
