Marginal player. The spotlight of controversy kept him safe; for awhile. Much like the gay player from Mizzou got a cup of joe, but that was all. Gotta' produce, or go home in life.
Let's get this straight: you were saying that ESPN is not a reliable site for SPORTS news, and you provided a link to a blog that no one has ever heard of? Am I reading this correctly? I don't know how someone with your level of reasoning ability functions on a day-to-day basis.
Just blows your mind, doesn't it?

If he's gone it's because of the latter.
You guys keep arguing over the words the OP choose, because we all know you don't want to address that.
Lol, good grief.
This is the most absurd thing I've read in a long time. Kaep is easily one of the top 64 quarterbacks in the NFL and will more than likely be on an NFL roster for the 2017 season, probably as a backup.
You obviously aren't familiar with sports. New coaching staff and new management usually means new offensive and/or defensive systems, which often means new player personnel for those schemes and most importantly, a new quarterback if the team currently does not have a franchise quarterback, especially if the quarterback doesn't fit the new coach's system.
I can tell you right now that Kaep is not Kyle Shanahan's type of quarterback. Shanahan's prototype is a natural arm talent with the ability to stay in the pocket, keep his eyes downfield, go through his progression and then deliver the ball. That's not Kaep's play style, therefore how he plays and how he fits the new system is far and away the most important factor in the 49ers' decision to keep him or not.

Lot of marginal QB's out there. Most of the ranking organizations had Kaep ranked around 22 or so for end of season starting QB.s That's better then 9 or 10 of the leagues staring QB,s.
It's always hilarious when Putin's biggest supporters try to lecture us on patriotism.
Amen. It amazes me when people call protesters unAmerican. Have they heard of the American Revolution, the Boston Tea Party, Henry David Thoreau refusing to pay his taxes, or those in Arizona who refused to carry their papers in protest of SB 1070?
that must have been a bitter pill for him to swallow. I only hope he has some very good friends who will advise him to learn something from this and move on.
Hope it doesn't make him more bitter.
it is very unwise to use your career place for a protest....right or wrong, it's not the place to do something like that...and I can bet in the end, it was all about the money with the owners. People not paying to come to those games b/c of him.

He hasn't been fired.
