The DNC and Demcratic Town halls you have a voter card to be let in and the DNC screeens the people in thier events. HRC had smaller turn outs to ensure a controlled audice.

At CPAC Trump said " Obamacare covers very few people".

No shortage of media reacted that 20 million is more than a few.

It's a curious comment. Given the source it's challenging to know the intent of what to make of it. Perhaps he meant that as a percentage of all insured, the number enrolled in Individual Health Plans is very small which is correct.

It might also mean a Federal focus on the Individual Plan Market which has been a disaster for more than 25 years. Insurers have been reducing their exposure to and/ or exiting the Individual Plan Market for more than 25 years- nothing to do with the ACA.

The health insurance market has been contracting via mergers and acquisitions for decades. Fewer health insurers means less competition which typically means it's a seller's market.

Conversely, insurers have been entering or expanding their footprint in Medicare Supplimental and Advantage Insurance to cover what traditional Medicare does not. And they do so despite a majority of enrollees have multiple chronic issues.

As a aside, the ACA is legislation, not insurance or healthcare. It addresses who gets insurance, what's insured and how it's funded.

I don't think the democrats made the tea party protesters show IDs. Why should the indivisible protesters be different?

Or simply stop having a town hall meeting and the congressmen and women will have the night off

They're supposed to work for the people and the people have every right to be able to question the work they're doing.

My representative refused to have a Town Hall. I don't blame him. Being harassed and screamed at isn't productive. Unfortunately, constituents who really did want to respectfully discuss the issues are now precluded to do so because of these ill-behaved people flooding Town Hall meetings. Not sure what the solution is to this impasse, however.
No, being called out is never comfortable, especially if what you're doing is motivated by your own greed or partisan politics rather than by the will of the ppl you represent. I would never hold a town hall if I was a GOP rep.

Then don't run for an office. That is part of the job even if it is a cupcake town hall with softball questions. The problem is there are a LOT of issues that hotbed right now, investigating Trump' s ties to Russia, the repeal of Obamacare and the lack of a unified GOP plan, the expected cuts and changes to Social Security and Medicare, the cuts to Medicaid thanks to the repeal of ObamaCare, immigration executive orders forcing violent and non-violent criminals who are illegals to be deported as well those who haven't even committed a crime. There's a lot to answer for.

There's no reason for congressmen to show up to these stupid town halls. It's not because they are scared, but it's because it's completely counter-productive to just have people yell at you. They would never vote for you anyways and, frankly, what they are asking for is crazy socialist nonsense and they should be ignored.

Then let those that don't listen to their constituents to be voted out and not whine about it. I voted Flake in 12, I'm not voting him senator in 18.
