Lightbulb Pope suggests it's better to be an atheist than a bad Christian

Christians can't decide among themselves what a "good Christian" is.

There are so many different brands/labels. Each one claiming it's the only true faith and all others are lacking.

It's...

From a strict Catholic doctrinal point of view, all Christians are Catholics, although some are very very bad & naughty Catholics who can look forward to an unpleasant afterlife.

Conservatives abuse Christianity everyday for earthly benefit. When exposed, the usual line is that they will seek forgiveness from their God. There are just too many BAD Christians.

Two thumbs up for the Pope!

Actually, that is false.

It is the duty of all Christians to help each other stay true to the word. When they stray, it is important to step up and point it out what it is that is counter to the principals.

The reason you see it is such as because you have no clue what Christianity is, what the Bible says, or even care to learn such, your only goal is to criticize it, which makes your assessment worthless on it.

Everyone sins, this is a fact. There is however a difference between sinning and seeking absolution and that of acceptance of sin. This is the road that divides us. The pope is a hypocrite as he does not simply sin, he approves of sin. This is the falsity of his words and why those who hate God applaud him.

So do Southern Baptists. This belief that believers are to take control of the government and force piety on everyone comes from the Koran, not the Bible. In away, one could say the religious right follows the Koran more than they do the Bible.

That is true about Catholic theological teaching. That is because Catholicism claims baptism is a Catholic sacrament. But I suspect this view is more a newer, liberal, theological innovation.

I believe Catholicism teaches one baptized in the Catholic Church converting to Islam or atheism or anything can never change you from being Catholic.

I think the Catholic Church fell into heresy when it departed from Eastern Christianity. I also regard Catholicism of today as nothing more than a branch of the Anglican and Episcopal churches.

I think Eastern Christianity in the Orthodox world remains the only true catholic--with a small c--Church in the world. And maybe the adherents of the Latin Mass in the Catholic Church of today.

The pope ought to know. He's the head honcho of the biggest group of "bad Christians" on the planet.

The Catholic church is to Christianity what ISIS is to Islam, minus the beheadings.

That is a lie. You have no clue what you are talking about. I suggest you educate yourself rather than spewing ignorance.

Southern Baptists have a basic Bible focused doctrine:

Southern Baptist Basic Beliefs

Quote:
The Scriptures

The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God's revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy. It reveals the principles by which God judges us, and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. All Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.
