Starbucks' brand perception has plummeted since it announced plan to hire refugees

The coffee giant's consumer perception levels have fallen by two-thirds since late January, according to YouGov BrandIndex.

The perception tracker measures if respondents have "heard anything about the brand in the last two weeks, through advertising, news or word of mouth, was it positive or negative." In Starbucks' case, perception is still overall positive, but significantly lower than it was prior to CEO Howard Schultz published a public letter outlining the company's plans to give refugees jobs.

Well if Schultz will follow through on what he says, we will see what happens.

Good for the people. The Starbucks CEO is too political. I also will not buy any stuff from Starbucks.

Brand perception? Jeez, that's worse than Trump saying polls are lying. The lunacy of the Right is at an all time high.

I used to just love Starbucks but the last time I made a purchase was 2012. I will never purchase anything from Starbucks again.

I didn't love it but I did buy an occasional gift card or two every year, for my kids Xmas stocking. Now I will buy another brand that they drink. Starbucks is not the only brand that they drink.

Brand perception and marketing are serious business for companies. Even the smallest companies out there are concerned with perception and their target customer. This isn't something "the Right" made up.

Maybe you should open your home to the refugees. Let us know how that works out for you.
