They are saying many times that Trump is guaranteed to be a disaster and everyone will be flocking back to them
In no time. They also say that the public supports all their policies and views by far

I'm not confident of anything. I think Trump and Trump supporters will absolutely ruin this country and make it like The Handmaid's Tale. I'm only hoping if it gets bad enough, Canada will adjust the border to include Washington State. We are entering very frightening times and I fear Trump is turning into a dictator.

I don't think that Trump is guaranteed to be a disaster. For his supporters, he certainly won't be. For those who oppose his policies and positions, he certainly will be. But objectively speaking, it's too early to tell what kind of President he's going to be. He's certainly had a few gaffes so far, but new administrations always have missteps, and a new administration with a President who has NO government background is going to probably make a few extra missteps.

Just like it's too soon to rank Obama's Presidency against other Presidents. It's too soon to rank Clinton's Presidency and that's almost two decades ago.

Time will tell.

"Are democrats right to be so confident?"

I don't know what worlds you live in but, I do NOT see the dems confident.

All I see is whining, crying, "safe" rooms, crayons, therapists, rioting, etc.

I dont think Democrats are as confident as you think, but yes, they do believe they have the right path forward. And polling does indeed state that Dems have the right view on the issues.

Moot question. Trump is not going to last. They keep getting weirder and weirder in the WH. Prepare for a silent coup or a very loud protest overthrowing him.

Every day in every way, Donny proves himself totally unfit for the office of president. And seems to deteriorate or 'melt' under pressure.

they say (who I don't recall) that is takes about two years for people to change their minds when they are convinced they are right. You need to show them the proof many times and you need to let them find their way there. This board is not for that, this has degraded to baiting, shouting , abusing with lots of noise and very little signal (yeah I am no better)

Trump has no plans to help the average guy, there is no way on earth to bring back those jobs. There is no happy ending if the ACA is truly molded to fit Ryan's selfish model.

Trump is knee deep in Russian money, he is surrounded by people who have agendas that are not inline with the USA's current or future needs.

Trump has been captured by Bannon Miller Anton and others. These guys are white power freaks, they have an agenda that is so out of whack that it is unlikely the GOP can survive long term if they allow the status quo to stand. But right now they are so excited by their unexpected win that they are pretending to themselves that everything is "ok" and will work out fine...
