It absolutely is. So is homosexuality, and was openly considered such until political pressure forced a change. You will find that like homosexuality, transgender's and their supporters will also pressure until such is openly accepted for no other reason than bowing to political pressure (seriously, look up how homosexuality was changed in its classification, you might be surprised how it was mysteriously changed on nothing relevant to proper process). Watch and wait.

I've always maintained that it may very well be a mental disorder. My issue with that is that this is usually said as an insult. A lot of people have mental disorders and we should want to help them live comfortable and support that. If you have an issue with that, it's because you're an *******. Simple.

What the **** are you even talking about?
I'm saying that without recent advances in medical technology, if you cut your **** off you have a 10/10 chance of dying.

It's hard to be transgender when you're dead. Wouldn't you say that to be true?

So what if it is true, and one guy (plus a bunch of internet yahoos) saying it doesn't mean it is? Does that somehow mean they get to be treated with disdain by the rest of us and it's ok?

No. But we shouldn't have to go along with the charade either.

And they said the same thing about being gay, and a whole host of other things, back in the day. So what?

But let's pretend it is a mental health issue for a moment. Mental health issues are already a protected class under the law. Student who have mental health issue are entitled to he same protections under the Individuals with disabilities act. The can of worm this could open for the transphobic is enormous. You think grandkids getting rights to the bathroom are a problem? Wait until you push the mentally ill angle long enough and someone realizes all of the rights they will be entitled to from IEPs to 504 and the results for the kids who currently have parents freaking out about sharing a bathroom. Think about how different education is now, when special ed kids are no longer kept in a room down by the boiler room.

Yes, follow this down the rabbit hole and watch it come back to bite you in the ass.

I don't know enough about this subject to really say if just one study says that is a mental disorder or not. It would seem like you'd need a few differing studies by various groups to really be for sure. IDK, trying to be objective here is all.

Mental health issues are protected under the law you say?

Can you show me where under the law that a pyromaniac is respected in their right to burn property because they have such a protected mental illness? How about pedophilia? Bestiality? Going to tell me that they also are protected under such ans should be allowed to continue the process of their illness?

Are you phobic to those illnesses? How dare you judge them! Such a bigoted position to hold! /scoff

Absolutely. Something doesn't connect in the same way for some as it does for most.

And?

That's just the way it is.
