Also, Wal-Mart was out of two products I needed last week, yet another plague brought to me by President Trump!

Chinese are too SCARED to come to Europe: Tourists boycott EU over terror fears | World | News | Express.co.uk I believe knowing we imported the unvetted refugees, mostly Muslims, the Chinese and others probably fear coming to the US.

Maybe it has to do with Obama letting in the improperly vetted refugees and the attacks by Muslims around the world!
What improperly vetted refuges? There has not been one attack by a Syrian Refugee on US soil. Most of the refugees who are coming to the US are women and children who are fleeing the war. The vetting process can take up to 2 years.

Facts about the Syrian Refugees

Quote:
President Obama says the “overwhelming numbers” of Syrian refugees referred to the U.S. by the U.N. have been women and children. That’s true — 67 percent have been children under the age of 12 and women, according to State Department data.
The total numbers from the UN for all Registered Syrian Refugees is 4,000,000 and 70% are women (50.3%) and children under the age of 12 (19.7%)

There will be a down tick in international visitors this year all due to your hero Trump.
Another likely effect will be that even more companies will move their operations offshore, both those owned by Americans and by the many investors here, from other countries. International exchange has been the goose that laid the golden eggs for us, for a long time. And today, that goose is being cooked.

You need to explain that to Trump and associates. They're the confused ones.

The thread is about tourism. North Carolina is hemorrhaging money after the 'Bathroom Bill' fiasco, and conservatives are saying "don't fret it" there too. Talk is cheap, however, and the dollars fleeing the state can be counted, three quarters of a billion and counting.

They tried to repeal it but conservatives are digging in. They will try impeach Trump too when the pain gets too much and America's GDP is so far down the toilet that dollar bills will become filler for sleeping bags. I mean... if you can deny that killer hurricanes and tornadoes are caused by Climate Change you can deny that people around the world care that a Crony Capitalist has the nuclear codes and has as much as said to everyone not born in America, "get out" and take your family and friends with you.

When I dated online it was a well discussed topic that men often lost points with women they were interested in (and vice versa) for saying mean or racist things in their profiles. Shock of shocks, even though the person you are trying to impress looks just like you and will have no trouble passing your selection criteria, the fact that you have shown yourself to be intolerant might just cause them to ignore you. Like civilized people the world over are ignoring America. Don't fret it? Really? You should be sweating bullets.

They're not denying themselves holidays, they're just choosing to go somewhere where there isn't a risk of being detained at the border, or being told they need to hand over their phones and social media passwords, or possibly even get turned away entirely because of a stamp in their passport. That would be a pretty crappy holiday. So they choose somewhere else where they know they can have a nice, stress-free time.

There are those, yes, but the true damage will come from the lack of interest in going to America by wealthy progressives from every part of the globe who will choose not to spend money in a country aligned behind a Nationalist Strongman. Americans boycott "Blood Diamonds", and "Unsustainable Harvesting". Americans seek out "Fair Trade" chocolate, coffee and crafts. International travelers can (and will) boycott destinations with low "Human Rights" scores and spend their hard earned money in less tarnished locales.

Here in Quebec, stories like a student athlete (Canadian-born and raised), travelling with his team for a competition, barred from entering the United States because he was a Muslim leaves a bad taste in people's mouths.

The USD is also currently really high versus major currencies in the western world (big travellers). American trips suddenly cost more, but other destinations' cost stay relatively the same.

As for the thread of Islamic terrorism, speaking as a Canadian, I doubt that's even a preoccupation for Western international travellers. The chances are still extremely remote and far exceeded by the odds of dying due to some transportation-related accident.
a very good point that goes completely unconsidered by the OP in lieu of shouting 'trumpsfaulttrumpsfault!!'

Ok, that's fine. Let them travel elsewhere.

Nah, it's kind of like weighing your concert options and realizing that while this particular band has put out some pretty great tunes, the new lead singer has been airing some repugnant views and you don't feel like putting money in his pocket. And there are dozens of other great bands out there.
