Calm down. Answer the question. Why is this such a big deal while 60,000 families lost sons to an illegal war in Vietnam?

You're not usually so dramaqueenish.

Why not, people seemed to be out cheering and partying in the streets when Japan surrendered. The US was unsuccessful in that war?

That was Yemen who couldn't kick Mexico's butt on their best day. Yemen probably couldn't defeat Texas. So, let's keep this in weight class perspective before you people complaining, yet beating drums for war against Russia, want to get into the ring with the big Russian bear for a heavyweight title fight. The Russian bear hits far harder. The US will be lossing far more in lives and money tangling with them.

especially if we have to fight the Russians on their turf on snow and ice and minus Zero degree weather.....Ruskies are used to that, go ask the Germans how well that ended for them.

Yep. And those Chechen allies of theirs are the most feared Muslims, by other Muslims, in the entire Muslim world. Expect the Chechen mothers in such an event, to respond more akin to ancient Spartan mothers than modern day American fathers.

Spartan mothers are said to have, in custom, handed their sons their shields before battle giving them the command, "With your shield or on it."

Meaning, survive in victory in battle returning with your shield in hand, or return dead in battle being carried on your shield. Spartan mothers reputedly publicly rejoiced when their sons were killed in battle.

Those Chechens are not paper tigers. Invade Russia and expect to encounter the Apaches of the White man, the Chechen opposing Americans and doing so with that kind of alien attitude to us. They will be willing to lose fat more money and their sons, and rejoice doing so, to defend Russia.

Trump's comments on the matter AFAIK were attributed to the assessment made by Mattis.

Finally I've read something from you I can agree with. Perhaps this is one topic both sides can find common cause on. Trump said invading Iraq was stupid, and he was 100% right.

Weird. But then again I could understand a father wanting answers if he was kept in the dark about his son's secretive job.
The father requested a private transfer of the remains of his son. Instead, Trump shows up.
Don't know if wires got crossed within the Trump Admin or what.

If this had been my son, the last thing I would want is a photo op of shaking hands with POTUS, any POTUS, during the transfer of my son's remains.

That Trump previously chose to publicly discredit a Gold Star mother/ family on the basis of their culture has long term consequences.

No.
No.
No.
Yes.
Too many.

"Because they did it too" <= Is and always has been a sh*tty justification for anything. So basically you are upset that "your" guy is just as bad as the other "team's" guys? Yea, no sh*t - that should have been obvious for a long time now. Next time pick a guy you can be proud of instead of one that is as much of a POS as the guys on the other side you don't like.
