I am not using Ben Franklin's famous quote because it was taken out of context and does not mean what it seems to say.
All of which sound great.....In a time when there wasn't a large group of people from several places in the world bent on our not just destruction, but total elimination from the planet earth via any means necessary...

No, it's just being hyper-sensationalized now by the Press. Wonder why that happens?

After 9/11/01, many people in the U.S. demanded better "security" at airports and other venues. They got it. Now, we are reaping the "benefits" of that security.
I rather imagine that these "incidents" are nothing new. They have been happening all along, ever since the "enhanced security" was put in place.
However, now that trump is President, and the media is slavering at the mouth to find anything and everything to blame on his administration, suddenly such incidents are BIG NEWS!
The sad thing is, that so many people fall for the media hype!

Rousso was scheduled to deliver a lecture titled “Writing on the Dark Side of the Recent Past” at Texas A&M University.

Rousso was stopped at immigration because of what an official called a “random check,” and was forced to wait over ten hours in a chair without access to his phone.

Rousso is an Egyptian-born French citizen. France is one of the beneficiaries of the U.S. visa waiver program, which only asks French citizens to fill out an online ESTA application before traveling to the US. Egypt is not one of the seven Muslim-majority countries that President Trump is in the process of attempting to ban.

It was only after law professors from the university intervened on his behalf that he was eventually allowed entry into the United States.

Rouso is Jewish - not Muslim - moved to France in 1956 at age 2.

" Wired News has an update on the latest TSA follies, focusing mainly in the fact that even government employees from the nation's national security apparatus are being routinely selected for extra scrutiny at airports because their names are somehow on the TSA's terrorist watch list."

TSA 2016 - "A transgender woman live-tweeted what she described as a "denigrating" experience that caused her to miss a Monday evening flight out of Orlando International Airport because she was detained by federal security officials."

Wondering what kind of documents we need to travel with for domestic travel, to prove citizenship? Should we have voter id card, social security card, official birth certificate in case we are detained? State issued concealed weapon ID card if we have one? Is a Drivers License enough for someone that doesn't have a passport?

It won't be long until American Citizens are detained/deported due to mix up. I don't want to be one of them.

What do we need to do in order to protect ourselves from being detained for potential deportation?

The mother of Muhammad Ali Jr happened to have a photo of herself and Muhammad Ali Sr and they let her go.

Exactly!! Pathetic isn't it that so many are easily persuaded against the truth?
