Trump is proposing to increase the US Military Budget. Not just increase it, but double it. In today's world this is just not supportable or necessary.

Draft executive order shows how Trump wants to grow the U.S. military significantly - Chicago Tribune
Donald Trump is right about defense spending – and that should scare you

As of 2016:

The US Military budget is currently about $573 B.
The US already outspends the next 7 countries with the largest budgets combined.
The US already outspends the next biggest spender (China) by 280%.

The bloated military has long been a problem. You should be able to read into that what I am saying.

I guess his promise about building a stronger military with a lot less money was just another lie.

You made a mistake conflating 2.8% with 2.8 times.

More "free stuff" for the military industrial complex while rural America will fall further and further behind as the government refuses to invest in the quality of life of the American people and Trump fans get furious when people suggest we should invest in America, not perpetual war mongering.

Maybe he's planning on waging war with someone.

You can't build until after you REPLENISH what was used the last 8 years. Barack gutted the military to fund his agenda.

If you give them the toys, they are going to play with them. The best way to stop these decades of senseless wars is to starve the military industrial complex to death.

Big government spending on the military paid by taxes and increased user fees for Joe Sixpack will just make sure Trump supporters will fall even further behind in the 21st century economy and become even more desperate. How is that a good thing?

Actually, that is not why you have a strong military. You have a strong military so you don't have to go to war. There is really no way that I have the time to break this down and explain it.

I am glad to see Trump fulfilling yet another one of his promises to his supporters.

No matter what Trump does, those with an adult case of the "terrible twos" will scream and kick.

Rural America will see a revival as we slow the foreign goods coming in and per Trump, he will be supporting small business which is central to rural America. Also, many from rural America join the military, save money and take it home to establish businesses, etc.

ISIS? How will rural America do under sharia law? Not so well, not well at all.

Fear monger. There's a Muslim booby man under every bed.

Deficit spend to build up the military

Creates jobs

Fulfills campaign promise

Throw the people a tax cut bone and most don't care about deficit spending.
