My dad used to like it well, well done. Kind of black and tough like shoe leather! ..It was a cook at work who let me taste my first medium rare and I liked it. If cooked right, it tastes delicious!
I'm guessing that steak and such is mostly what he eats. After all, he is overall totally uncultured, lacking in anything that would be curiosity or good taste, so I'm sure he doesn't venture much into exotic or elevated cuisines - French, Indian, Thai, etc.

This reminds me of the uproar over the president who requested that cauliflower or some vegetable be excluded from Whitehouse menus because he didn't like it. You would have thought that the world ended I guess a sophisticated pallet is now a requirement to be POTUS...
