The Obama campaign has told three reporters they have to drop off the campaign plane this weekend. All three work for papers that endorsed Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.: the New York Post, the Washington Times, and the Dallas Morning News.
"Unfortunately, demand for seats on the plane during this final weekend has far exceeded supply," Obama campaign spox Anita Dunn said, "and because of logistical issues we made the decision not to add a second plane. This means we've had to make hard and unpleasant for all concerned decisions about limiting some news organizations and in some cases not being in a position to offer space to news organizations altogether."
...
But the Obama campaign is not a fan of the coverage afforded it by the New York Post or the Washington Times.
Officials of the campaign insist that that has nothing to do with the decision. The Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times wanted to have more reporters on board, they say.
The difference here between Trump and Obama is that Obama made up some lame fake excuse why those outlets were removed - and did not have the guts to tell the truth. Trump is up front in telling certain press outlets what the problem is.

Difference ,Obama wasn't President, and even the reports in your own link say it was a space issue.

THREAD FAIL!!!
Did you read the last paragraph - they decided to add more Chicago reporters... not a space issue.
But yes - he was not yet president. But then again - I don't believe Trump dismissed anyone before he was president. He called them out, but he never removed them.
Obama hasn't been president for nearly 2 months. Why are you Cons still obsessed?
Hey remember when W started a whole bunch of wars in the middle east and created a power vacuum that led to the rise of ISIS? OH yeah, those wars also are still costing us with a grand total reaching in the trillions (when Bush initially said it would only cost $50 bn).

BUT OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry you can't handle a little context.
Bush was Obama's and liberal's whipping boy for over two years after he became president.
The fact is Trump needs the press just as much as any other President. The press is a tool any presidency can use as a way of announcing policy before it goes to Congress and as a way of swaying the public toward that policy in a favorable manner.
So far, Trump has been big on promises, but very light on turning them into policy, and that's where the rubber meets the road. When Congress goes to work on a policy bill, we all know what happens,
Kicking out a few correspondents won't change anything for Trump. But if he keeps it up and begins kicking more out, he is poking the bear. If there is a general walk-out in the White House press room, Trump loses his bully pulpit. And when the bully pulpit goes, so goes his best way to influence public opinion.
Candidates have many luxuries as to what they will allow or won't during a campaign. Presidents lose those luxuries once on the job.
In a country that's so divided, with a Congress and a Cabinet that have divisions in them, there's no way Trump will ever be able to control the leaks. The more he tries to clamp them off, the more will spring up, because that's the nature of things in D.C.
Why? Because for every issue, there is someone in Washington that has something that can be gained from it, one way or another. The most Trump has for a political career is 7 years and 9 months now. But every other political career in Washington is still open-ended. Strom Thurmond's career in congress lasted 48 years!
So Trump has a simple choice. He can either get his message out first, before the message springs a leak, or he can live with his message being leaked out drip by drip, left up to others as to what it means or not, with no guidance or discipline involved.
That's his choice. Announcement or rumor by 'anonymous source'. For a fact, thinking that allowing only a few personal media favorites of his to put his word out in the best way possible is foolishness at it's most foolish. Announcement by Tweet is even stupider than that.

Trump is only a month into the position - and he is acting on his promises, it's just that some things take time. Safe to say he has a lot to learn, despite his confident language. Hopefully all of this will even out in the future - but it does take two to tango here. If these press outlets continue on their current course, why should Trump give them a break? Those outlets would be damaging their own reputation with their behavior.
