Oh yes, that's really important.

Meh. They got lots of free publicity by the debacle. Now a trivial, boring movie that hardly anyone watched and would have forgotten about the morning after the Oscars is actually remembered and talked about for nearly a week. Gotta wonder if the whole thing wasn't a stunt to give the Oscars some more publicity.

Horribly.

Tom Hanks once handed him his coat to hang up.

Our society doesn't really give a crap about *****/black people, so its no surprise. That douche bag excuse of a host, Jimmy Kimmel, also made fun of the Muslim name of one of the actors from Moonlight who won for best supporting actor, and also made a homophobic joke about the one sex scene from Moonlight.

Thanks straight white people.
First, why do you care so much about the Academy Awards? I learned long ago that they tend to give awards to movies that most people never seen while often ignoring the more popular ones (especially if they are action, thrillers, sci-fi, horror or comedies).

Second, attacking 200 million (or whatever #) people you don't know, for the actions of a handful of people is pretty racist in itself.

Sounds like Bill Clinton marveling that "Obama would be carrying our bags" if things were the way they were "twenty years ago."

You're welcome gay black people?

I'm unsure how to respond. The above just seemed appropriate.

Well, lefties, you want to play in the mainstream pen then you're going to be subject to mainstream jokes like everyone else.

Also, take it easy. It was a mistake.

I'd be much more embarrassed that a black film just happened to win Best Picture the year after the #oscarssowhite agitation took off. For a lot of people, its going to seem like a participation trophy. You can't really cry your way to being given awards and have the awards keep the same level of cache. That's the nature of competition.

Yeah, because one post on the internet represents all liberals nationwide.

You rightists never stop making ASSumptions about the politics of someone saying something you disagree with, do you?

My reaction to the Oscars was it was an unfortunate, honest mistake, Boo-Hoo, get over it. People are being killed for no good reasons around the world, in the grand scheme of things someone being handed the wrong envelope is nothing.

So are the Oscars.

But we're still talking about them.

That's a lot of angst over a movie that absolutely nobody saw.

Hope you get to feeling better real soon.
