Heard about it on the national news. I wonder why the media wastes time with such isolated incidents. I wonder why I waste time with this. Apparently there has been death threats on his family, and calls to burn his house down. They're probably just trying to make marines out to be monsters by surfacing this story. Maybe Berkley was on to something. haha I think the crueler marines are the better off we are. I'd rather have a bunch of dicks fighting for us rather than a bunch of touchy-feely weiners. Its kind of sad this will probably end that guys career.

Here is a link to the story, for those interested in determining accuracy and applicability:

Urban Legends Reference Pages: Marine Throws Puppy Off Cliff

My take on it is so what? There are always sadistic folks in all occupations, this just happened to be captured on video (if legit). It says nothing good or bad about the Marines, just the individual(s).

I remember an incident when I was in the Navy where about 5 Sailors and Marines were throwing kittens off the 3rd story of a barracks. I witnessed this and as an officer I told them animal cruelty is not tolerated and they stopped, luckily the kittens did not die as they were throwing them off the 3rd floor onto a metal bike rack below...

All these stories prove, is that there are idiots present in every facet of life, no matter what code of ethics or morals. Idiots ruin it for everyone.

Here is another one:

Conservative: This war has killed an overestimated 1 million Iraqis and one soldier threw a puppy off a cliff.

Liberal: Why did he throw a puppy off a cliff?

Conservative: See, no one cares about the Iraqis.

Tell me that isn't the truth.

That is my point, it is a non-story. I looked for a link but they were all kind of scetchy, I first heard about it on the idiot box first thing when I woke up.

I think the story is hot because it was on Youtube and they are trying to figure out who this person is.

I fail to see how cruelty to animals makes Marines or anyone less of a touchy-feely weiner. That is just a ridiculous statement, picking on something defenseless somehow makes a person tough? Come on.

Ehh, I'm a dog lover myself, and would probably shoot someone I saw do that to a dog, cruelty of animals shows there is a deeper mental issue. It is a ridiculus statement whish is why I made it, I made the whole ridiculus thread to watch people debate a ridiculus issue. Was it a troll? Probably. The point was this is a non news story no matter how much I love dogs, I don't see how MSNBC can run it continually in a cycle, I've heard it twice now in an hour. Proves how useless the media is.

A non partisan reality is that cruelty to animals can be a sign of MUCH deeper problems.

Dahmer loved to torture animals.

It would be interesting to know how many more signs of a psycopathic mind these guys had.

I use to blow up snails with firecrackers as a kid. I'm suprised I haven't killed my first human yet.
