There are a lot of factors involved here but one of the most simple that most people can understand is:

An emergency room can not deny anyone treatment.

The emergency room is bombarded by non-insured people that can not pay.

The emergency room goes broke.

The hospital closes down

You break your leg. You have no where to go. You split it with and tree limb and die of infection.

Understand?

I get the sarcasm. Americans are always bragging about how rich they are.

Why can't America afford healthcare? Rarely do Americans say "we can't afford the wars". There's always money for that.

This obliviousness to America's corporations and American militarism (which the world despises) is why I say Mexico will be more advanced than the U.S. within a decade. Yet Americans like to laugh at Latin America.

Or need certain types of coverage they don't need such as a guy needing Pap smears or mammograms.

Do you support not requiring drivers to have auto insurance?

Exactly.

It's hilarious. Right-wing extremists are always screaming about "welfare bums" and people needing to "pitch in and pay their fair share."

So, a bunch of "evil liberals" applies THEIR idea to health care, and now it's suddenly the worst thing in the world! The hypocrisy is utterly laughable.

Everyone should have coverage and pay something because everyone uses health care. Anything else is about as insane as saying people who drive cars shouldn't be required to have insurance "if they aren't planning on using it." Nobody plans on having a crash or a heart attack, and if you don't pitch in, the costs are higher for everyone else.

So, if you have a heart attack, are you willing to forgo treatment, even if it is fatal, so I don't have to pay for it because you've decided to pass your costs off to me and everyone else by not paying for some level of health insurance?

And isn't that EXACTLY the same mindset of "dirty welfare bums" that right-wingers always rail against? Passing the costs off to "honest, hard-working Americans"It is, and you know know it.

That's why this fight against everyone having to chip in a bit for health care is so hypocritical coming from the far right. They hate anyone who "leeches off mah tax dollars!" but they have no problem leeching off MY health care premiums. Hypocrites.

until some selfish arrogant self centered affluent jerk runs over you-- and is found faultless- so you are on your own---or you find out your spots on your back are melanoma-- or that old sick man coughing on the elevator or restroom has TB- but you don't see Drs. as you are indestructible- so you pass it on to all the people you know as you are latent carrier--

OH I'm sorry,I forget some live in a bubble- nothing can harm them-- or they have extra dose of trumpeze cool aide, and now have super powers- in their alternative universe--
